About the Role:

The Data Solutions Engineer is a specialized sales support role with a focus on Demandbase data products. You will work with both pre and post sales teams to help buyers understand how they can leverage Demandbase data in and out of the DB1 platform. You will be speaking with both technical operations and data science/AI users as well as marketing and sales leaders to show the impact that Demandbase will have on their GTM processes and overall strategy.

The base compensation range for this position, not including the company bonus, is: 

What you’ll be doing:

  • Act as the Internal Data Expert for Sales
    • Scope, design, and scale custom data solutions
    • Educate buyers and sellers on Demandbase data capabilities and best practices
    • Identify and document use cases for Demandbase data
    • Guide sellers on value-based selling strategies related to data
    • Suggest ideal buying groups to engage
  • Collaborate Across Teams
    • Partner with Product Management, Product Marketing, and Data Services to provide feedback and product improvements
    • Align prospect requirements with Demandbase’s data and SaaS products
  • Communicate Value
    • Create demonstrations, presentations, and written/verbal communications that clearly articulate Demandbase’s data value
    • Translate technical data solutions into straightforward business concepts for internal and external stakeholders
  • Manage Projects & Deliverables
    • Drive solution design, data assessments, and pre-sale data samples across deals; generate “so what” readouts to ensure clear takeaways for stakeholders
    • Walk prospects through data samples, addressing conceptual, competitive, or technical questions in partnership with internal SMEs
    • Communicate scope and requirements to post-sale Data Services teams; review and finalize SOWs


What we’re looking for:

  • Experience & Background
    • 5–7 years of technical sales experience
    • Familiarity with sales tech and martech ecosystems (CRM, Marketing Automation, Sales Intelligence, Sales Engagement)
    • Experience working with CDPs, data lakes, and data warehouses
    • Proven ability to present to and manage discussions with VP-level (and above) stakeholders
    • Passion for solving problems with account-based marketing
  • Technical & Analytical Skills
    • High-level technical experience (e.g., Data Scientist, Data Analyst, Solutions Architect)
    • Experience with SQL or BigQuery
    • Familiarity with visualization tools (e.g., Looker, Tableau, Power BI)
    • Understanding of APIs
    • Knowledge of how people and account data is managed in CRMs/CDPs
    • Ability to understand or create data context diagrams/flows
    • Preferred but not required: Master’s in Business Analytics, Computer Science, or a related field
  • Soft Skills & Mindset
    • Excellent communication skills: clear, concise, and accurate for both technical and business audiences
    • Critical, curious thinker who can see the “big picture” while verifying technical details
    • Self-motivated, with strong integrity and professionalism
    • Attention to detail and the ability to juggle multiple priorities and deadlines

The base compensation range for this position for candidates in the SF Bay Area is: $130,000 - $200,000. For all other locations, the base compensation range is based on the primary work location of the candidate as our ranges are location specific. Actual compensation packages are based on a wide array of factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skillset, years of experience, and depth of experience.
