JOB PURPOSE
The Creative Director role here at DEPT® is an integral part of the team providing leadership, guidance, inspiration and support to social creatives, content creators and community managers at a range of different levels. CDs take a hands-on creative role, building, delegating and empowering the team to take on work, but as required, the ability to lead from the front and willingness to get ‘their hands dirty’ to help the team when needed, is essential.
The CD is responsible for driving the direction and output of our always on/editorial offering at Dept®. Our team and client list is rapidly expanding, we need to ensure both output and process are kept at a high level as we grow.
A huge part of quality always on content comes down to cultural relevance and the CD will need to be pop culture obsessed and ‘chronically online’. They will be a key driver in helping the team be as reactive and relevant as possible tapping into trend, culture and the comments section.
A sense of innovation is key, experimenting with new formats, platforms and how we use AI, ‘lofi’ production techniques and external creators to deliver content at the speed of culture.
The Creative Director will take creative ownership of all clients assigned to them, striving for the best work delivered on budget and nurturing strong client relationships. They will update the ECD on a weekly or bi-weekly basis on statuses on all ongoing and upcoming projects. Alongside the delivery and resourcing team the Creative Director will oversee the growth and resourcing of the team to the best of its ability.
