THE ROLE
DEPT® is seeking an innovative Group Director of Intelligent Activation & Growth (IA&G) to lead customer profile unification standards, real-time segment activation rules, and campaign operational maturity across North America. Reporting into the Regional Technology Leadership team, you will oversee our customer journey orchestration and lifecycle marketing practice, advising CMOs, VPs of Marketing, and Chief Experience Officers on how to turn customer data into clear commercial outcomes.
You will provide matrixed technical leadership across our forward-deployed Data, Analytics, and Martech craft lines during rapid-diagnostic and enablement programs. You are a marketing systems thinker who understands that the gap between a database and a conversion is always an architectural problem. You will lead the diagnostic efforts on polluted customer data, unblock profile synchronization issues, and transition client teams from rigid batch-and-blast marketing to Always-On, 1:1 behavioral journeys.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Architect Personalization Stacks: Lead the design of real-time streaming data pipelines, customer identity stitching networks, and cross-channel marketing automation workflows.
- Govern Data Hygiene: Oversee diagnostic efforts on polluted customer data, unblocking profile synchronization issues, over-ingestion anomalies, and downstream SDK discrepancies.
- Drive Activation Strategy: Advise CMOs and VPs of Marketing on how to structurally transition their organizations to support real-time, behavioral campaign orchestration.
- Align Analytics & Attribution: Define the data collection, tag instrumentation, and attribution logic required to prove use-case conversion metrics.
- Collaborate with GTM Leads: Partner with Strategy and Delivery Engagement Leaders to evaluate at-risk environments, identify value-realization gaps, and outline target-state data proofs of concept.
WHAT YOU BRING
- Data & Martech Leadership: 12+ years directing enterprise lifecycle marketing, data engineering, database marketing, or marketing technology consulting inside an agency or advisory context.
- Data Orchestration Mastery: Deep expertise in identity resolution rules, customer profile stitching, real-time streaming segments, and cross-channel marketing automation.
- Required Adobe Experience:
- Expert, architect-level authority across the Adobe Experience Platform (AEP) ecosystem, including Real-Time Customer Data Platform (RT-CDP), Customer Journey Analytics (CJA), and Adobe Journey Optimizer (AJO).
- Proven experience designing and directing complex database integrations with Marketo Engage and Adobe Campaign (v7/v8).
- Hands-on experience deploying Adobe Target for advanced personalization and utilizing WebSDK schemas for clean client-side data ingestion.
- Executive Presence: Outstanding written and verbal communication; you make complex data pipelines and identity graphs highly legible for business-oriented executive audiences.
Work Environment: Remote position - TRAVEL EXPECTED
