Architect, Software Engineering (Adobe Intelligent Activation & Growth)

United States

WHY DEPT®?

We are a Growth Invention company built to help the world’s most ambitious brands grow faster. Operating at the intersection of technology and marketing, we create what is next by pioneering ideas, acting fast, and moving further because standing still just is not in our DNA.

We are drawn to people who stay curious, move with intent, and never stop inventing. Our culture runs on three values: better together, relentlessly curious, and get sh*t done. It is how we work, how we grow, and how we make things that matter.

At DEPT®, you will find the freedom to explore, the space to collaborate, and the trust to make a real impact for our clients, for each other, and for the world we are helping to build.

THE ROLE

We are seeking a visionary and market-experienced Architect, Software Engineering, Intelligent Activation & Growth to join DEPT®'s growing Adobe practice in North America. This is an executive-level consulting role at the top of our Intelligent Activation & Growth pillar — the practice within DEPT® that turns customer data into measurable commercial outcomes through journey orchestration, lifecycle marketing, and personalization at scale. You will operate as the most senior client-facing advisor on our most complex Adobe transformation engagements, bringing authoritative expertise across Adobe Experience Platform (AEP), Adobe Journey Optimizer (AJO), Real-Time Customer Data Platform (RT-CDP), Customer Journey Analytics (CJA), Adobe Target, and Adobe Campaign. You will architect the data and activation strategies that make enterprise personalization programs real — not just the vision, but the operating model, the schema design decisions, the journey logic, and the KPI frameworks that prove value to the C-suite.

The clients you will serve are enterprise organizations — global retailers, financial institutions, healthcare systems, media companies, and consumer brands — who have invested heavily in the Adobe ecosystem and are struggling to extract the full value of that investment. They come to DEPT® with fragmented customer data siloed across CRMs, CDPs, and data warehouses; marketing teams running batch-and-blast campaigns with no ability to act on real-time signals; and experience teams that cannot personalize at scale because the data foundation is not ready to support it. You will lead the engagements that solve those problems: architecting multi-year transformation roadmaps, designing AEP data models and XDM schema strategies, defining audience segmentation approaches in RT-CDP, mapping cross-channel journeys in AJO, and building the target operating models that help marketing and technology organizations work together effectively. Your deliverables will range from executive strategy decks and data architecture blueprints to channel-specific activation playbooks and KPI measurement frameworks presented directly to CMOs, CDOs, and CTOs.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Lead Executive Advisory Engagements: Own the client relationship and strategic direction on large-scale Adobe transformation programs, advising C-suite stakeholders — CMOs, CDOs, and CTOs — on how to evolve their customer data and activation capabilities over a 3–5 year horizon, from current-state assessment through target operating model design and multi-year roadmap delivery.
  • Architect Activation and Data Strategies: Design the data and journey infrastructure that enables enterprise personalization at scale — including AEP schema and XDM data model guidance, RT-CDP audience segmentation strategy, AJO journey orchestration design, and cross-channel activation frameworks that connect email, push, SMS, web, and paid media into coherent customer lifecycle programs.
  • Shape Practice Methodology and Intellectual Capital: Develop the frameworks, toolkits, and point-of-view content that define how DEPT® approaches Intelligent Activation engagements — including repeatable assessment methodologies, maturity models for customer data activation, and thought leadership content (white papers, conference presentations, client workshop curricula) that establish DEPT®'s authority in this market.
  • Drive Pre-Sales and Proposal Development: Partner with DEPT® account and growth teams on strategic pursuits, leading discovery conversations with enterprise prospects, scoping complex multi-phase engagements, and authoring the technical and strategic sections of proposals and statements of work for programs that span AEP implementation, journey orchestration, and ongoing optimization retainers.
  • Mentor and Develop the Pillar Team: Serve as the technical and strategic mentor for consultants at Levels 1–3 within the Intelligent Activation & Growth pillar — conducting structured knowledge-sharing sessions, reviewing client deliverables, guiding career development conversations, and actively participating in hiring decisions to build the bench of talent the practice needs to scale.

WHAT YOU BRING

  • Deep Enterprise Consulting Experience: 12+ years of experience in digital strategy, marketing technology architecture, or customer data consulting — with a track record of leading multi-year transformation engagements for enterprise clients with revenues above $1B, navigating complex organizational structures, managing executive stakeholder relationships, and delivering programs that span strategy, implementation, and ongoing optimization.
  • Customer Data and Lifecycle Marketing Expertise: Authoritative command of the principles and practices that underpin modern customer data activation — including identity resolution strategy, first-party data architecture, audience segmentation methodology, customer journey mapping, lifecycle marketing program design, and measurement frameworks that connect activation activity to revenue outcomes such as LTV, conversion rate, and retention.
  • Adobe Product Fluency: Hands-on, expert-level familiarity with the Adobe Experience Platform ecosystem calibrated to executive advisory and architecture responsibilities — including AEP data ingestion patterns, XDM schema design, and profile unification strategy; RT-CDP audience segmentation, activation destinations, and data governance configuration; AJO journey canvas design, decisioning logic, and channel-specific message orchestration; Customer Journey Analytics for cross-channel attribution and behavioral analysis; Adobe Target for experimentation and rules-based personalization; and Adobe Campaign for batch and trigger-based campaign execution in regulated or high-volume environments.
  • Executive Presence and Stakeholder Leadership: Demonstrated ability to operate credibly at the C-suite level — structuring and facilitating executive workshops, translating complex data architecture decisions into business terms, managing competing priorities across marketing, technology, and analytics stakeholders, and influencing organizations toward decisions that require cross-functional alignment and multi-year commitment.
  • Practice and Thought Leadership Orientation: A track record of contributing to the broader market conversation — whether through published writing, conference speaking, client-facing methodology development, or internal knowledge-building — and a genuine interest in developing the next generation of practitioners in your domain.

OMB Control Number 1250-0005
Expires 04/30/2026

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
