About the Role 

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Business Analyst, with technical affinity, to support our team, with the opportunity to grow into a hybrid software developer support role. The ideal candidate will have experience working in an Agile environment and be skilled at translating business requirements into functional and system requirements. An eagerness for managing product backlogs, defining testable acceptance criteria, and working closely with product owners and stakeholders is essential. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys facilitating requirement gathering sessions, refining features and stories, and supporting high-performing Agile teams to deliver valuable solutions.  

Key Responsibilities 

  • Collaborate with Product Owner, Stakeholders, external and internal teams in an Agile setting to understand business requirements and translate them into functional user stories that align with the TSA mission.  
  • Assist with understanding and managing the team’s product backlog and ensuring requirements and priorities are organized.  
  • Assist with facilitating meetings with Product Owner and stakeholders to define and document business requirements. 
  • Assist with supporting end user’s day-to-day activities by answering user support calls and emails and troubleshooting and coordinating issues to ensure operations are maintained. 
  • Assist with writing test cases and performing bug-fix testing, smoke testing, regression testing, and release testing.  
  • Assist with creating and maintaining standard operating procedures (SOPs), help guides, and reports as determined by the Product Owner and stakeholders.  
  • Assist with coordinating and managing quarterly user audits for the application. 
  • Be available to support outages after-hours (including pre-scheduled weekends) 
  • Be available to support application releases and patches after-hours (including pre- scheduled weekends)  
  • Interest and ability to learn and assist in the future with software development in the Azure cloud environment (including assisting in creating data pipelines/analytics/back and front-end development)

Required Qualifications 

  • Bachelor's degree in Related Field (Business Management, Computer Science, Information Systems Management, or etc) or 1-2 years  of experience (including internship/volunteer experience) in related role if degree is in an unrelated field. 
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to communicate complex technical topics to management and non-technical audiences. 
  • Excellent analytical skills, including the ability to integrate information from multiple sources 
  • Strong skills with using MS Office tools: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and SharePoint. 
  • Ability to work independently and interact regularly with government and non-government stakeholders at multiple levels of authority. 
  • Active or ability to obtain a Public Trust Clearance is required 

 

Preferred Qualifications (Nice to Have) 

  • Experience with Agile SDLC methodology (Scrum).  
  • Experience with Microsoft Azure DevOps for documenting and tracking product backlog items. 
  • Experience with Microsoft tools: PowerBI, Visio 
  • Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and DevOps best practices. 
  • Exposure to SQL and Selenium. 
  • Experience/interest in Software Development and or Data Analytics
