Registered Nurse (Weekends and evenings)
Your role as a Registered Nurse (Weekends and evenings)
Dialogue is looking for a Registered Nurse to take part in our mission to help people improve their wellbeing. Your role will be to ensure the evaluation, care, and referral of patients consulting on our platform by collaborating with a multidisciplinary team. You will closely collaborate with our virtual team to ensure a seamless experience all throughout the patient care journey. Available Positions (Full-Time or Part-Time)
Weekends
- Shifts: Days and evenings (between Friday at 4 p.m. and Sunday night at midnight)
- Duration: Shifts of approximately 8 hours
- Hours: Between 6 a.m. and midnight (minimum of 2 evenings per week)
- Weekends: 3 out of 4
Note that during the week before and the week after the weekend off, the employee will need to provide availability on other days of the week (day or evening) to complete their hours.
Evenings
- Shifts: Evenings only
- Duration: Shifts of approximately 8 hours
- Hours: Between 12 p.m. and midnight for full-time, or between 4 p.m. and midnight for part-time
- Weekends: 1 out of 3 (evening shifts)
What you’ll be doing:
- Assessing patients via telephone or video and identifying key symptoms
- Referring patients to appropriate health services based on clinical assessment (clinic, emergency or virtual appointment with a practitioner)
- Providing advice on symptom management at home
- Prescribing group prescriptions according to your virtual scope of practice
- Documenting consultations and following up with patients as needed
This position is ideal for a nurse with strong clinical expertise and excellent communication and customer service skills.
We’d love to hear from you if you have:
- Excellent written and spoken English and French
- 2+ years of experience
- An active and valid nursing license to practice in Quebec or Ontario
- Knowledge and mastery of vaccination (PIQ), contraception, and STI screening and treatment are assets
- Experience in an expanded role, community or primary care preferred, emergency or critical care experience, and a license from other Canadian Provinces are an asset
- Autonomy, professionalism, adaptability and thoroughness

Nurses practicing by telepractice within Dialogue do so in accordance with applicable legislation regarding the use of information technology and are subject to the laws, regulations and codes of ethics governing the profession in the province or territory in which they perform the act and those governing the profession in the province or territory where the client is located at the time of the remote consultation.
Upon hiring, the nurse receives training on telepractice standards of practice, including session confidentiality, emergency protocols, reliability of mobile devices or other applications, interoperability of applications or software with the systems used, and data security.
A nurse practicing telepractice is subject to the same requirements and standards of practice, duties and ethical obligations as in an in-person consultation. She remains responsible for the actions she takes and is professionally liable. Virtual consultation is only possible when no assessment and physical examination is required.
In the event that the nurse is called upon to perform remote procedures in other provinces or territories that require it, she or he must obtain, at the request and expense of Dialogue, a permit to practice in these other provinces or territories.
