About the team

Dialpad’s data team serves as the central hub for analytics and business intelligence, supporting all departments including Finance, Product, Customer Support, Legal, Marketing, and Sales. The team is responsible for data ingestion, ensuring data quality, data engineering, Business Intelligence, descriptive analytics and predictive analytics. Dialpad’s data team operates from five global hubs located in the US, Canada, Argentina, India, and Philippines.

Your role

As a Senior Manager of Data Analyst, you will manage a team of Data Analysts based in the Philippines and collaborate with business stakeholders across various departments to effectively leverage big data and provide accurate, actionable insights that address key business questions. This role is based in the Philippines and reports to the Senior Director of Data Analytics in the US. The candidate must be available to work night shift in the Philippines, during US working hours (8 AM to 4 PM PST / 11 PM to 7 AM PHT). In this role, approximately 70% of your time will be dedicated to individual hands-on work, while 30% will focus on managing and mentoring a team of data analysts.

What you’ll do

  • Team Leadership: Manage and mentor a team of data analysts, ensuring high performance and continuous professional development.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional stakeholders to identify key business questions and provide data-driven insights that support strategic decision-making.
  • Data Analysis: Analyze data from multiple sources to provide accurate, timely answers to critical business questions. Ensure findings are actionable and aligned with business goals.
  • Promote Self-Serve Analytics: Develop and maintain a suite of fully automated, accurate, and reliable dashboards that enable self-service analytics across the organization, empowering teams to make informed decisions.
  • Data Modeling and Documentation: Collaborate with the Data Engineering team to define detailed data model requirements, document business logic, and create curated datasets for report automation and analysis.
  • Data Quality and Usability: Partner with external teams to improve the quality and usability of internal data, ensuring that it meets the needs of various departments.
  • Proactive Monitoring: Monitor business performance through automated dashboards and ad-hoc analysis. Provide leadership with actionable insights to guide strategic decisions.
  • Collaboration and Best Practices: Work closely with data analysts and engineers across the organization to enhance data utilization, improve processes, and ensure adherence to best practices.
  • Process Improvement: Continuously identify and implement opportunities for process improvement, cost optimization, and operational efficiencies.
  • Advanced Analytics and Machine Learning: Perform statistical analysis, hypothesis testing, and build predictive machine learning models to optimize costs, forecast business outcomes, enhance product experiences, and drive business growth.

Must have skills & experiences

  • 7+ years of experience in data analytics, business intelligence, or a related field, with at least 2 years in a leadership or managerial role.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across teams and stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and deliver high-quality results on time.
  • Experience working directly with business stakeholders to define requirements, drive analytics, and deliver effective insights.
  • Experience collaborating with Data Engineers, Business Analysts, and Team Leads, with a demonstrated track record of successfully working with offshore teams and delivering complex projects on time.
  • Advanced SQL development skills for data exploration and analysis.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience building effective visualizations and dashboard automations in an advanced BI tool like Tableau (preferred), PowerBI, DOMO or Looker.

Preferred education and experiences

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical or business field.
  • Expertise in product, financial, marketing, sales, or customer support data analysis.
  • Experience working in a Saas based technology company.
  • Experience in building and training machine learning models for business analysis use cases.
  • Proficiency in Python for data exploration and analysis.
  • Hands-on experience with Agile Software Development methodologies and tools like Jira.
  • Working experience in cloud-based data platforms like GCP, AWS or Azure.
