Position Overview
The Tax Manager will be working closely with the Controller, Head of Tax and other members of the Company’s Accounting team. The Tax Manager will ensure compliance with tax laws and regulations and contribute to our goal of maintaining financial accuracy at our organization. You will be involved in all tax related matters, both direct and indirect, including sales & use tax, filing tax returns, managing tax audits, as well as operationalizing transfer pricing. The position will also be involved in tax planning initiatives and assist in the development of best practices for tax compliance and reporting processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Facilitate and manage the preparation of federal, state, local income tax and information returns by collecting, analyzing and formatting financial information.
- Manages the Company’s indirect tax compliance processes, including administering Avalara sales tax processes and filings.
- Review and coordinate the delivery of tax returns prepared by external firms and facilitating making tax payments.
- Find and implement opportunities for process improvement in company tax procedures.
- Assist in managing tax risks associated with the Company’s rapidly changing structure.
- Assist with the tax aspects of US GAAP purchase accounting process for acquisitions.
- Plan for and develop an overall return calendar and coordinate timing and inputs.
- Drive efficiencies in the tax provision processes.
- Operationalize transfer pricing and manage related intercompany charges.
- Maintain professional and technical knowledge.
- Provide support with internal & external audits and ad hoc special tax related projects.
- Respond to notifications from tax agencies.
Required Experience/Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting.
- CPA or equivalent required, MS or MBA specializing in Tax is preferred.
- 4-7 years of relevant tax experience, Big 4 experience preferred.
- Knowledge of ASC740 and reporting requirements.
- Proficient in tax software (i.e. Avalara) and Microsoft Excel.
- Experience covering complex tax issues in a real-time environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong analytic, organizational and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work well independently as well as the ability to work well with stakeholders and communicate the benefits of tax initiatives.
U.S pay range
$110,000 - $135,000 USD
