Front End Developer
THE OPPORTUNITY

We are on the hunt for a forward-thinking front-end developer who’s excited to shape digital experiences of tomorrow by developing and maintaining web and hybrid mobile applications while solving complex user experience issues. As a key member of our team, whether it's launching new features, optimizing performance, or staying on the cutting edge of frontend tech, we’re looking for someone ready to grow and contribute.
You will need to communicate effectively with different roles on the team to advocate for our end users and their experience within our projects. Additionally, you will be responsible for maintaining our front-end applications while consistently researching new features from framework and library upgrades that further enhance users’ experiences.
THE TEAM
This position is on the MEMS (Mobile, ePub, Marketing, SPC) Team. We are responsible for creating seamless, engaging, and responsive user interfaces across the company. They specialize in modern web technologies such as HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, and Angular to build and maintain user-facing features. We support our eCommerce, Store Planning, and Marketing teams through our web applications and our associates and external customers in the Connect and Dillard’s customer hybrid mobile applications.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Follow an SDLC of Analysis, Design, Development, Testing, Implementation, and Maintenance
- Learn the business environment while working in a collaborative environment to achieve organizational goals
- Communicate frequently with the team lead and other team members to ensure tasks are being completed accurately and on time while ensuring goals are met
- Use common practices to add enhancements, perform updates, and implement programmatic changes for our web applications using Angular and other frameworks and libraries
- Stay current with framework and library upgrades through implementation and constant research
- Advocate for migration to new features in framework and library updates
- Research and implement common practices in web and hybrid mobile applications
- Develop, maintain, and conduct unit tests for quality assurance validations
- Maintain a high level of attendance
THE MUST HAVES
- Experience with Angular, HTML5, CSS, Bootstrap, Jest, Ionic, Capacitor
- Ability to grasp new ideas quickly and thrive in an agile environment
- Must be a highly motivated, effective communicator who can both work in a team space as well as independently
- Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship
- Extremely detail-oriented
- Strong work ethic with the personality and drive to handle multiple projects simultaneously
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
- Adaptable to changing needs and priorities
THE NICE TO HAVES
- Experience with Angular 16 or higher
- Experience with Mobile Applications
- Hands-on experience with Node.js and npm
- Hands-on experience with Figma
- Hands-on experience with Illustrator
WITHIN 1 MONTH,YOU'LL
- Be paired with a mentor to develop a basic understanding of the Dillard’s applications you will be supporting
- Complete changes, with guidance, to some of the existing Dillard’s web and hybrid mobile applications
WITHIN 2 MONTH,YOU'LL
- Have a solid introduction to Angular and its concepts as a framework
- Have a solid understanding of HTML, CSS, and how to leverage UI libraries such as Bootstrap
WITHIN 3 MONTH,YOU'LL
- Be able to identify any specific areas of code in need of improvement, communicate those findings with your team, and share ideas for addressing those issues
- Continue working with your team to share ideas and ensure milestones for our web and hybrid mobile applications
- Complete a new feature for an existing application
