
Senior Director, Patient Services & Distribution

POSITION OVERVIEW:
Reporting to the Vice President of Market Access, the Sr Director, Patient Services and Distribution will be a key strategic leader within the Market Access team, responsible for leading the patients services and distribution/channel strategy and operational execution for Disc’s therapies resulting in appropriate patient access for Disc therapies.
The role requires a strategic mindset, a collaborative approach, and a strong commitment to building a culture of ownership, accountability, and trust. This individual will act as a critical bridge between internal stakeholders and external partners ensuring disciplined execution of patient services and distribution/channel strategies that enable timely and appropriate patient access and product distribution.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop and execute a forward-thinking patient services and distribution strategy to ensure prompt, appropriate access and distribution, and a positive patient/HCP experience for Disc therapies that are aligned with company and brand objectives.
- Collaborate with field reimbursement, sales and marketing to focus on setting access expectations and communicating to ensure optimal patient and HCP experience.
- Build and manage external partnerships with PSP, SP, SD, and Co-pay partners ensuring alignment with company/brand goals, compliance, and quality standards.
- Work in partnership with field reimbursement to develop case issue resolution and triage process.
- Collaborate with commercial operations to ensure data quality and accuracy for SP, SD and PSP activities and inventory.
- Partner with finance and marketing to develop co-pay program that delivers on brand strategy and corporate GtN.
- Collaborate with Marketing, Medical Affairs and SP to develop and implement patient adherence program.
- Troubleshoot payer-specific reimbursement challenges in partnership with Market Access teams
- Monitor program performance metrics and drive continuous improvement based on data, patient feedback and evolving market dynamics.
- Engage and communicate regular KPI and business updates to commercial and executive team.
- Lead PSP and distribution training initiatives to elevate organizational understanding, build cross-functional trust, and embed access literacy across the company.
- Serve as the primary internal expert on patient access, reimbursement challenges, distribution and support models for rare, specialty therapies.
- Ensure all activities are conducted in accordance with applicable legal, regulatory, and compliance standards, modeling ethical behavior and a commitment to doing what is right.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred (MBA, PharmD, MPH, etc.)
- 12+ years of progressive commercial experience within the biopharmaceutical industry, ideally in specialty or rare/orphan diseases
- 8+ years of Market Access leadership experience, including 5+ years of direct people management
- Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire high-performing teams with a strong culture of accountability and trust
- Track record of successful strategy development and execution in a matrixed, fast-paced environment
- Orphan/specialty product launch experience required, experience with HUB services, reimbursement, and specialty pharmacy essential
- Strong understanding of commercial and government payer systems, including Medicare Part D and pharmacy benefit management
- Exceptional communication and executive engagement skills, with experience influencing C-suite stakeholders internally and externally
- Willingness to travel as needed to support team and business objectives
