
Supervisor, Manufacturing Development Operations

Purpose
Oversee the Additive Manufacturing Development Technician team and its activities for laser powder bed fusion machine development, assembly, testing, and operation. The AM Development Operations Supervisor ensures assembly and test milestones and goals are met in collaboration with other AM Development teams, collects & provides input regarding introduction of complex electro-mechanical capital equipment.
The Role
- Supervise shop floor activities, including daily labor schedules, workflow, training, material and supply management and tracking skills across the technician team matrix.
- Lead and manage a team of technicians, handling performance management tasks.
- Leads and works with the team of technicians to assemble and test components up to the full system with or with limited or basic documentation or instructions.
- The Supervisor will own the shop floor including tool management and 5S standardization.
- Resolves issues with the machine in order to maintain progress during build, test, calibration, and printing operations.
- Provides feedback regarding the machine design, assembly and operational processes, work instructions, and supporting documentation.
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and implement solutions.
- Collaborate with the machine development team to improve machine reliability and performance.
- Support RCCA activities to identify root causes of non-conformance issues and implement corrective actions to prevent the recurrence of these issues.
Basic Qualifications
- Ability to lawfully access information and technology that is subject to US export controls
- 7+ years of hands-on build, NPI, or manufacturing experience on the shop floor
- 5+ years of experience leading a team of technicians
- High school diploma
- Ability to use MS software, familiarity using Enterprise Resources Planning tools to manage work orders and business Teamcenter, Jira and Confluence applications.
- Hands-on skills in fabrication, assembly, testing, and rework
- Hand and power tools experience
- Knows best tool, assembly, and rework procedures
- Knows shop floor best practices including 5S
- Troubleshooting experience
- Crane & rigging operations experience
- Skills matrix management
- Ability to meet short-term goals with quality and on schedule
- Ability to manage a team of technicians
- Resourceful
- Ability to accomplish the job by various means with little need for guidance
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in L-BPF or industrial capital equipment is a plus
- Experience in NPI development through production lifecycle is a plus

Pay Range
$116,420 - $160,080 USD
