Responsibilities
- Provide direct support in the day-to-day operations on hardware and operating systems including the evaluation of system utilization, monitoring response time, and primary support for detection and correction of operational problems.
- Consult and assist developers to develop Windows server and application hosting solutions.
- Perform the engineering and administration of web and application servers running IIS and Apache.
- Perform operational systems administration, engineering, and troubleshooting for Windows servers on-premises and in the Cloud
- Support software and application deployments as part of the configuration, change, and release management processes
- Implement, support, and maintain infrastructure virtualization and hyper-convergence solutions, such as VMware and VXRail
- Implement, support, and maintain storage, backup, and archival solutions, such as Cohesity, Druva and AWS.
- Provide operational backup and restore support for infrastructure systems.
- Support disaster recovery testing and recommend/implement solutions to continually enhance the resilience of the enterprise environment.
- Provide support for data center hardware for installations, upgrades, refreshes, and troubleshooting.
- Research, test and deploy security patches and vulnerability mitigation and remediation configuration changes.
- Provide after-hours and weekend support for reported outages.
- Create and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and technical documentation.
- Effectively support a blend of operational and project-based engineering/administration activities.
- Provide support for Printer installation, configuration and management.
- Systems, Applications and Websites monitoring using the variety of monitoring tools.
- Mailbox accounts creation and management.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of relevant systems administration and engineering experience within enterprise IT environments.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/Applied Sciences or related disciplines
- Strong verbal and written communications skills, with the ability to collaborate and consult with diverse stakeholder groups
- Ability to obtain a Public Trust
Desired Qualifications
- Extensive experience utilizing VMware and its additional services, such as Site Recovery Manager (SRM), vCenter, and vSAN.
- Experience implementing and utilizing hyper-convergence solutions.
- Strong Windows Server management and administration experience (2016 and newer).
- Experience developing and modifying PowerShell/bash scripts to automate manual administration tasks.
- Experience managing network storage and backups leveraging Cohesity.
- Demonstrated experience in developing rigorous testing disciplines to ensure stable computing platforms.
- Demonstrated experience in consulting with end-users to identify and understand needs, as well as developing tailored solutions to address complex technical needs.
- AWS cloud administration experience
- Linux server administration and management
- Application patching experience on Windows and Linux environments.
Basic Compensation: $115,000- $125,000 yearly salary
The salary range listed reflects what we reasonably expect to pay for this role at the time of posting. The final offer may vary based on skills, experience, geographic location, market conditions, and internal equity. Additional compensation may include performance incentives and program-specific awards. We do not use salary history to determine compensation, in line with applicable law.
