Overview  This role involves performing in-depth technical evaluations, diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repairs of Depot Level Repairable (DLRs), including detailed analysis of U.S. Navy electronics and subassemblies down to the component level. Responsibilities include providing technical support for resolving Fleet Casualty Reports (CASREPs), maintaining and updating bench stock repair parts, and accurately documenting parts usage and labor hours. The position also contributes to the development and refinement of testing methods, equipment, and work instructions to improve repair processes. Additionally, it requires conducting Beyond Economic Repair analyses on DLR materials returned from the fleet to determine cost-effectiveness and future disposition.  Responsibilities  Provide technical evaluations, diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repairs of Depot Level Repairable (DLR)  Provide technical support to resolve Fleet Casualty Reports (CASREPs)  Assist with maintaining and updating Bench Stock Repair Parts  Analyze, diagnose, and troubleshoot USN electronics and subassemblies down to the component level  Develop/ update testing methods and equipment  Develop/ update work instructions for testing electronics  Accurately record parts required/ used and hours spent on modules  Perform Beyond Economic Analyses on Depot Level Repairables (DLR) material returned from fleet  Qualifications   High School diploma or GED  Formal electronics training from a Technical School, Class A or B military school in electronics or communications, or a four-year electronics apprentice program  Seven (7) years of experience to also include: design, preparation, and modification of engineering documents and drawings, or an Associate’s Degree in Engineering Technology, math, or science  Formal electronics training from a Technical School, Class A or B military school in electronics or communications, or a four-year electronics apprentice program  Five (5) years of experience to also include: design, preparation, and modification of engineering documents and drawings.  Years of experience include:   Ability to use a Multi Meter, Familiar with the Spectrum Analyzer and Oscilloscope.    Ability to use and interpret wiring diagrams and schematics. Overview  An Engineering Technician 6 provides advanced technical support for evaluating, troubleshooting, and repairing Depot Level Repairable and shipboard SSEE systems. The role supports fleet operations by resolving CASREPs, maintaining bench stock, assisting with future demand analyses, and offering onsite or helpdesk assistance as needed. Responsibilities include reviewing installation drawings, participating in Tier I and II meetings, ensuring APL compliance, tracking maintenance progress, and performing Beyond Economical Repair analyses. The technician prepares detailed repair and testing reports, manages data in MS Access, and uses advanced electronic test equipment such as signal generators, multimeters, network analyzers, and spectrum analyzers.  Responsibilities   Provide technical evaluations, diagnostics, troubleshooting and repairs of Depot Level Repairable (DLR)  Provide technical support to resolve Fleet Casualty Reports (CASREP’s)  Assist with maintaining and updating Bench Stock Repair Parts  Assist with Annual Future Demand Analysis (Technical maintenance requirements)  When necessary, provide onsite technical assistance/support to fleet activities  When necessary, provide fleet helpdesk support and serve as a technical liaison between the fleet and NAVSUP PBLO command  Review installation drawing packages  Attend weekly Tier I and Tier II meetings to review actions and make recommendations  Ensure compliance with Allowance Parts Lists  Provide oversight on maintenance schedule adherence and progress reports  Perform Beyond Economical Analyses on Depot Level Repairable (DLR) material returned from fleet - Assist gov't with developing, reviewing project documents   Possess working knowledge of shipboard SSEE_E, SSEE_F and SSEE Mods systems   Input daily repair log information using MS Access databases   Provide detailed repair and testing reports for PBLO items   Demonstrate expert experience using electronic test equipment such as (Signal Generators, Multimeters, Network Analyzers, Spectrum Analyzers)  Qualifications   Formal electronics training from a Technical School, Class A or B military school in electronics or communications – or- Four-year electronics apprentice program  High School diploma or GED and seven (14) years of experience to also include: design, preparation, and modification of engineering documents and drawings or Formal electronics training from a Technical School, Class A or B military school in electronics or communications – or- Four-year electronics apprentice program  Associate’s Degree in Engineering Technology, math, or science and 12 years of experience to also include: design, preparation, and modification of engineering documents and drawings.   Years of experience includes:   Ability to use Multi Meter, Familiar with Spectrum Analyzer and Oscilloscope.    Ability to use and interpret wiring diagrams and schematic. Overview TCAC Fleet Support Engineer position at Goodfellow AFB, San Angelo, Texas.  Required to provide System Administration, USMC help desk support, training and system installations in support of the three Radio Battalions, and MarSoc units, to include support of deployed Marine Units.  Function as part of an experienced Team of Engineers and Trainers to support software fielding and testing and provide USMC Radio Battalion tactical communication interoperability capabilities.
