Marketing Executive - Social Media

JOB PURPOSE:
The Marketing Executive – Social Media will be responsible for implementing the social media strategy across multiple platforms, ensuring the brand message aligns with the overall marketing objectives. The role includes designing and scheduling social media posts, writing engaging copy aligned with the events message house and managing the proofing process.
The individual will be responsible for maintaining a consistent and compelling social media presence, driving audience engagement and contributing to the events digital growth.
The role requires an understanding of how social media platform’s function, including content performance analytics, audience behaviour and digital trends.
The individual will collaborate with the wider marketing team to ensure a cohesive brand presence and timely execution of campaigns leading to the success of the event.
 
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
• Implement and manage the events social media plan across LinkedIn, X (Twitter), Facebook, Instagram and YouTube
• Design and create social media posts using brand guidelines and templates.
• Write and proofread engaging, platform-specific copy aligned with the the events message house.
• Schedule and publish posts, ensuring timely and relevant content distribution.
• Monitor social media channels, engage with the audience and respond to inquiries where relevant.
• Track and report on key performance metrics, making recommendations for improvement.
• Work with the wider marketing team to align social media with event campaigns and promotions.
• Ensure all content goes through the proofing process before publishing.
• Stay up to date with digital and social media trends, recommending innovative content formats.
 
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, & SKILLS:
Minimum Qualifications and Knowledge:
• A marketing, communications, or digital media qualification is advantageous.
Minimum Experience:
• 1-2 years of experience in social media marketing, preferably in B2B or event marketing.
Job-Specific Skills:
• Experience managing social media channels for a brand or organisation.
• Strong copywriting and proofreading skills.
• Basic graphic design experience using tools such as Canva or Adobe Creative Suite.
• Knowledge of social media analytics tools and performance tracking.
• Experience working with content scheduling tools (e.g., Hootsuite, Sprout Social, or native scheduling tools).
• Ability to multitask, meet deadlines and manage content calendars effectively.
• Understanding of SEO principles and how they apply to social media content.
• Experience in paid social media advertising and campaign optimisation.
• Knowledge of social listening tools to track brand sentiment and industry trends.
• Ability to develop and execute influencer marketing strategies.
