Sr. Software Engineer

Ghent

DoubleVerify is looking for a senior software engineer to grow its Measure & Protect solutions.

At DoubleVerify, we aim to create an environment where ambitious engineers can excel. We get things done without heavy processes slowing us down, with a culture of ownership and accountability.

We offer excellent compensation and benefits, with a stock plan and dedicated time for personal development.

You don’t just have to take our word for it. Get in touch for a (video) chat to get a first impression and ask any questions you have.

Who is DoubleVerify?

DoubleVerify brings transparency into the world of digital media and advertising. We validate that ads are viewable, protect brand reputation by understanding the context in which ads are shown, and protect advertising budgets from fraud. This transparency builds trust and is the key to a viable ecosystem of high quality content, supported by ad income, accessible to everyone.

DV helps hundreds of Fortune 500 companies across every major vertical, including financial services, telecom, automotive, retail, CPG, travel, luxury and pharmaceuticals gain the most value out of their media spend by delivering best-in-class solutions across the digital ecosystem.

We are a global company, with R&D centers in Ghent, New York, Tel Aviv, Helsinki and Berlin.

The team and your role

We’re looking for a motivated software engineer to join the team that enables the measurement that directly and indirectly underpins the lion's share of DV revenue.

The team owns a mission-critical, mature, but rapidly evolving, battle-tested product used in production on a massive scale. It has the leading position in projects related to retaining or expanding measurement coverage across the digital ecosystem, integrating with industry giants and expanding support for new ad formats and channels.  As a centerpiece of the DoubleVerify offering, it requires close cooperation with other teams around the world.

You will use Javascript/Typescript both on client-side and server-side. You will maintain and improve existing code bases, but also build new solutions adapted for traffic at massive scale. You will build CI/CD pipelines that deliver code and services to our robust cloud infrastructure. You will write multi-cloud infrastructure as code using Terraform. You will utilize Google Cloud Platform, Cloudflare, Amazon Web Services and other cloud providers. Being part of the team pioneering the field, you will get to experiment and adapt modern, cutting edge technologies like serverless edge workers.

We strive to nurture a safe environment of trust and transparency where everyone is treated equally, regardless of their background or title. We make sure engineers are growing in all aspects of engineering, not just coding. Individual engineers are put into the driver seat of increasingly impactful projects, gradually building their track record. This is done in a safe way, with plenty of support and 1-1 mentorship.

We work in a fast-paced environment and have a lot of challenges to solve. If you like to work in a high scale environment and want to help us build products that have a huge impact on the industry, and the web - then your place is with us.

Who You Are

  • You are a problem solver first, not just a coder
  • You thrive in an environment where engineering is empowered and takes ownership
  • You are able to communicate effectively about technical concepts
  • You enjoy collaborating and proactively helping moving projects forward, but you can also work independently
  • You have at least five years of experience with modern software engineering or you can manifest your expertise in other ways (open source contributions, tech blog posts, conference talks, …)
  • You have experience in developing applications in a cloud environment
  • You are familiar with professional software testing and continuous integration
  • Extra bonus points for:
    • Good data analysis skills
    • Familiarity with our tech stack described above
    • Experience in the ad tech ecosystem

What We Offer

We offer excellent compensation and benefits, which include:

  • A competitive wage
  • A company car
  • A stock plan
  • A bonus plan
  • A generous vacation schedule
  • Flexible working hours and a hybrid working policy
  • 10% of your time dedicated to your personal growth plan
  • Compensation for public transportation and biking
  • Group and hospitalization insurance
  • Meal vouchers and eco vouchers

If you believe you belong to any of the categories of protected veterans listed below, please indicate by making the appropriate selection. As a government contractor subject to the Vietnam Era Veterans Readjustment Assistance Act (VEVRAA), we request this information in order to measure the effectiveness of the outreach and positive recruitment efforts we undertake pursuant to VEVRAA. Classification of protected categories is as follows:

A "disabled veteran" is one of the following: a veteran of the U.S. military, ground, naval or air service who is entitled to compensation (or who but for the receipt of military retired pay would be entitled to compensation) under laws administered by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs; or a person who was discharged or released from active duty because of a service-connected disability.

Form CC-305
OMB Control Number 1250-0005
Expires 04/30/2026

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
