About the role:
To support our rapid growth, we recently opened a new facility in Brea, CA which is fast becoming one of the largest cold-process soap manufacturing operations in the country. We are looking to build a team at this location and are looking for self-motivated, fast learners who can help us rapidly ramp up production. This is a full-time role that will assist in the daily receiving, shipping, inventory and organization of the warehouse/production facility. This is a critical role to help establish our new soap manufacturing operation, reporting to the Warehouse Manager, with extensive opportunity for further progression as we grow.
This role will report to the Warehouse Manager.
This is a full-time (onsite) role with company benefits based out of Brea, CA.
The anticipated base compensation for this role will be $21 to $24/hr. Compensation will be commensurate with the candidate’s experience and local market rates.
What you'll do:
Maintain the current warehouse management system and best practices
- Maintain inventory of raw materials & consumables.
- Organize and maintain values of all moving inventory in the warehouse.
- Maintain pallet racking & warehouse floor cleanliness.
- Report and document all outgoing and incoming orders to the Warehouse Supervisor for processing.
Communication/coordination across internal teams.
- Receive, inspect and verify all deliveries for accuracy
- Coordinate with Warehouse Manager on any shortages, breakage or corrective action required from vendors
- Assemble outgoing orders for shipping daily
- Coordinate with Warehouse Manager to maintain inventory of production consumables, office stationery and cleaning/janitorial supplies
- Report any roadblocks or issues that may arise to the Warehouse Manager.
Material Handling
- Utilize forklift and material handling equipment to store supplies in proper warehouse locations and record bin location & lot codes in warehouse management database
- Pick items from the warehouse and provide supplies to production team as requested daily
Physical warehouse organization and safety
- Work with site team, vendors and freight drivers to maintain dock security, safety, and cleanliness
- Maintain safe forklift driving and speed throughout the warehouse at all times.
- Lead by example to ensure all plant employees maintain a clean and safe working environment and adhere to all safety and hygiene procedures
About you:
- High School Diploma or GED requested; College Degree Preferred
- 2+ years’ experience working in a warehouse inventory management role
- Experienced and highly proficient with Google Sheets
- High attention to detail; Detail oriented
- Strong organization skills and the ability to multi-task
- Strong communication (oral and written) skills and ability to coordinate across multiple areas of the business and with external partners
- Self-starter, comfortable prioritizing own tasks and operating in a fast-paced startup environment, with minimal structure and supervision
- Material handling experience preferred:
- Forklift certified
- Experience operating manual and electric pallet jacks
- Ability to lift 75 lbs
- Bilingual (English and Spanish) highly desired
- Excellent comm unication skills
- Interest in health and wellness, personal care, and/or eCommerce industries
- Experience working in the consumer products industry is highly preferred
- Someone who gets things done without perfect resources is innovative and works with a sense of urgency
- Someone who has high standards takes ownership and is invested in the outcome
- Someone who proactively helps others stays positive and has a good sense of humor
