Sourcing Manager, Raw Materials

About the Role:
The Sourcing Manager, Raw Materials is responsible for developing and executing sourcing strategies for raw materials, ensuring cost efficiency, quality, and supply chain reliability. This role involves supplier negotiation, risk management, and collaboration with cross-functional stakeholders (R&D, PD, Manufacturing, Ops, Quality, and Product Strategy) to support business objectives.
This role will report to the Director of Procurement.
This is a full-time, hybrid role with company benefits based in Marina del Rey, CA.
The anticipated base compensation range for this role will be $100,000 to $125,000. Compensation will be commensurate with the candidate's experience and local market rates.
What You'll Do:
- Value for Money
- Develop and implement sourcing strategies for raw materials to optimize COGS, contribution margin, quality, and supply continuity.
- Conduct market analysis to track pricing trends, industry developments, and potential risks.
- Review raw material portfolio, identify and deliver savings objectives.
- Execution
- Identify, evaluate, and onboard new suppliers to mitigate supply chain risks and launch new products.
- Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms.
- Manage business Monday.com raw material deliverables.
- Maintain strong supplier relationships and monitor performance through KPIs.
- Manage supplier Quarterly Business Reviews.
- Manage raw material escalations.
- Assist Finance, Ops Strategy and Planning teams in budgeting, forecasting, and inventory planning.
- Work closely with R&D, PD, Quality and Manufacturing teams to align sourcing strategies with production needs and new product development.
- Setup
- Streamline procurement processes to enhance efficiency and cross-functional collaboration.
About You:
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Chemistry, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in raw materials sourcing, procurement, or supply chain management.
- Strong negotiation, contract management, and supplier relationship skills.
- Knowledge of industry regulations, sustainability practices, and market trends.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
- Experience in running raw material Requests For Proposals (RFPs).
- Experience in sourcing oils and fragrances preferred.
- Experience in the personal care, cosmetics, food, pharmaceuticals or chemicals sector preferred.
- Understanding of raw material formulation and quality standards preferred.
