What You'll Do
As Senior Manager, Production & Release Management, you'll lead the team that gets Courses & Career products out the door. Every course educators use started as a production plan your team owned. You'll decide how the work gets sequenced, what the quality bar is, and where AI and automation can take manual effort out of the process. You'll work shoulder to shoulder with Product and Program Management to make delivery dates real, and you'll grow a team that can handle a portfolio that keeps getting bigger.
In this role you will:
- Lead the building, testing, publishing, and release of Courses & Career products, turning roadmap priorities into production plans and release milestones.
- Manage, coach, and grow the Production and Release Management team, setting expectations and building capability across concurrent releases.
- Partner with Product Management, Program Management, and content teams to align scope, sequencing, and delivery dates with real capacity.
- Own catalog integrity end to end, including release, retirement, and decommissioning of offerings.
- Bring AI and automation into production and release workflows to lift throughput and quality.
- Manage vendors and contractors who support scaled production, holding them to clear scope and quality expectations.
- Communicate status, risks, and constraints to leadership, and respond to external changes such as state standard revisions.
Who You Are
- You have a bachelor's degree, master's or equivalent experience preferred, and 8 or more years in education, curriculum development, or content production.
- You bring 5 or more years of operational leadership experience, including managing a team directly.
- You are an experienced people leader who sets clear expectations, gives honest feedback, and develops the people around you.
- You know content production well, from multimedia workflows to LMS platforms.
- You understand what a clean release takes, including quality gates, versioning, and publishing.
- You keep several projects moving at once in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment without losing the thread.
- You solve problems that cross team lines and make the fix stick.
- You communicate clearly with technical and non-technical audiences alike.
- You build strong working relationships with internal partners, vendors, and contractors.
- You are energized by AI and emerging technology and know how to put it to work to scale production and elevate quality.
- You pick up new tools and systems quickly.
- You are willing to take on evolving responsibilities based on business needs.
