About the Position
The Senior Cloud Operations Engineer will be responsible for deploying, managing, optimizing, and securing cloud infrastructure across Azure (preferred), AWS, or GCP environments. This role requires strong hands‑on experience working in production environments, implementing automation, managing incidents, ensuring platform stability, and driving cloud cost optimization through FinOps best practices. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in scripting, Kubernetes orchestration, monitoring, ITIL processes, database operations, and cloud security/compliance practices.
Key Responsibilities
Cloud Infrastructure & Operations
- Deploy, administer, and manage cloud environments (Azure preferred; AWS/GCP experience acceptable).
- Handle day‑to‑day Cloud Ops tasks including compute, storage, networking, security, and identity operations.
- Manage production workloads ensuring high availability, reliability, and performance.
- Implement DR (Disaster Recovery) strategies, backup policies, and environment resilience.
- Manage patching, release management schedules, and rollout execution.
Automation & Scripting
- Develop automation scripts using Bash or Python for operational efficiency and environment provisioning.
- Work with Infrastructure‑as‑Code tools, CI/CD concepts, and operational automation frameworks.
Monitoring, Logging & Troubleshooting
- Configure and manage monitoring systems, preferably Prometheus and Grafana.
- Perform log analysis, exception debugging, and performance troubleshooting (App Insights / App Config / Logging tools).
- Handle incidents with strong focus on quick service restoration and RCA documentation.
Security, Compliance & Vulnerability Management
- Work on vulnerability remediation, cloud security best practices, and audit readiness.
- Ensure adherence security policies, and enterprise compliance standards.
Database & OS Management
- Manage SQL‑based databases—query optimization, performance checks, health monitoring.
- Work with Linux and Windows OS administration, troubleshooting, patching, and configuration.
Cloud Optimization & FinOps
- Work on cloud cost optimization initiatives including rightsizing, reservation planning, and usage governance.
- Implement and promote FinOps best practices within the team.
Containerization & Orchestration
- Work with Kubernetes cluster deployment, troubleshooting, scaling, and cluster operations.
Required Skills & Experience
- 3–6 years of hands‑on CloudOps / Cloud Engineering experience.
- Strong expertise in Azure administration (preferred). Knowledge of AWS or GCP is a plus.
- Experience in scripting (Bash or Python).
- Proficient in Kubernetes cluster operations.
- Experience managing production environments with strong troubleshooting capabilities.
- Good understanding of SQL databases (queries, performance tuning).
- Solid knowledge of Linux and Windows operating systems.
- Practical experience with Prometheus, Grafana, and cloud-native monitoring tools.
- Experience with cloud cost optimization and FinOps practices.
- Experience with vulnerability management, security controls, and audit processes.
- Working knowledge of ITIL processes (Incident, Change, Release, Asset Management).
- Familiar with modern AI tools and ability to leverage them for improving operational efficiency.
Preferred Certifications
- Azure Administrator Associate (AZ‑104) or higher.
- AWS/GCP certifications (good to have).
- FinOps Practitioner Certification (added advantage).
