This position requires knowledge of design and drafting techniques, engineering drawing, AutoCAD Plant 3D/graphics, computer model work, and reading of drawings. Responsible for developing designs for complete and complex engineering systems, structures and plant arrangements with minimum supervision. Works under the direction of design engineers to develop project design drawing requirements to assure the completion of design packages necessary for the construction of pipeline, waterline and measurement facilities. The responsibilities include the following:

 

The CAD Designer III responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Develops designs for complete and complex engineering systems, structures, and plant arrangements with minimum supervision.
  • Ensures proper dimensioning, completeness of material quantities and specifications, and design needs relative to regulatory and industry codes.
  • Plans and executes the presentation of arrangements in AutoCAD Plant 3D
  • Collects, reads, interprets and uses related reference documents and drawings prepared by other disciplines, vendors, or outside sources.
  • Ensures compliance with approved design standards to provide quality design, safety, constructability, reliable operation, construction economy, and operating convenience.
  • Reviews and checks calculations, design models, drawings and design documents for quality, accuracy, neatness, functionality, and satisfactory completion.
  • Assists others with assembling bid, approval, and construction issue drawing packages.
  • Capable of preparing a 2D model, multiple view drawing and details. Ability to incorporate mechanical 3D background drawings prepared by others is required.
  • Primarily remote position with minimal in-office requirements in Canonsburg, PA.

 

Required Experience and Skills:

  • 5+ years of experience in Natural Gas facility design.
  • AutoCAD, AutoCAD P&ID, AutoCAD Plant 3D, Navisworks. 3D experience preferred. Drafting/design experience in mechanical disciplines.
  • AutoCAD Civil 3D and/or Infrastructure Design suite a plus.
  • Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Analyzing data where the objective is to supply information to others for development of recommendations and alternatives.
  • Associate degree in an engineering or scientific discipline or specialized courses in drafting, design & engineering practices.

  • Draft and design of mechanical/piping, or civil drawings for the construction and recording of natural gas compression, dehydration, and measurement facilities.
  • Size and specify necessary components of the design by researching information through company personnel, historical files, field visits, technical publications, regulatory and industry codes and specifications, and vendor provided materials as directed and supervised by the design engineer or CAD Design Manager; and
  • Collects, reads, interprets, and uses related reference documents and drawings prepared by other disciplines, vendors, or outside sources.
  • Ensures compliance with approved design standards to provide quality design, safety, constructability, reliable operation, construction economy, and operating convenience.
  • Reviews and checks calculations, design models, drawings and design documents for quality, accuracy, neatness, functionality, and satisfactory completion.
  • When possible, assists Design Engineer in engineering tasks with approved design standards to provide quality design, safety, constructability, reliable operation, construction economy, and operating convenience.

 

Remote work is being considered for this role excluding the following states:  California, Connecticut, Delaware, Illinois, Indiana, Louisiana, Massachusetts, Michigan, New Jersey, New York, and Tennessee unless willing to relocate.
