Technical Vetting Lead

We are seeking a strategic and hands-on Tech Vetting Lead with a primary focus on Machine Learning to design, implement, and optimize the technical evaluation process for hiring world-class talent. While the core emphasis will be on Machine Learning, this role will also support vetting efforts across other Centers of Excellence, including Data Science, MLOps, Data Analytics, Data Engineering, and Software Engineering. You will play a pivotal role in shaping Factored’s technical recruiting standards, ensuring we assess the right skills with the right rigor across multiple disciplines.
This is a high-impact role requiring a deep understanding of technical domains and recruitment workflows. You will collaborate closely with technical leads, hiring managers, recruiters, and our talent operations team to scale a fair, effective, and scalable vetting process.
Functional Responsibilities:
- Design and Improve Vetting Frameworks: Lead the development and continuous improvement of standardized technical evaluation processes with a primary focus on Machine Learning roles. You will also support the refinement of vetting frameworks across other domains, including Data Science, MLOps, Data Analytics, Data Engineering, and Software Engineering.
- Lead and Develop Interview Teams: Recruit, train, and manage a high-performing team of technical interviewers; provide ongoing coaching to ensure quality and consistency.
- Ensure Process Consistency and Fairness: Build scalable tools and methodologies that promote consistency, objectivity, and fairness across all technical vetting processes and interviewers.
- Collaborate with Engineering Leadership: Partner closely with engineering leaders and domain experts to design assessments grounded in real-world scenarios and technical challenges.
- Uphold Quality and Alignment Standards: Ensure consistent alignment among technical interviewers on vetting criteria and evaluation standards, maintaining a high and uniform bar for technical assessment.
- Enable Recruiting Excellence: Work closely with the recruiting team to embed robust technical vetting standards into hiring workflows, raising the overall quality of technical hiring.
- Stay Current with Industry Best Practices: Monitor and implement best-in-class practices for technical interviewing, candidate assessment, and talent evaluation.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in a technical role, ideally as a Machine Learning Engineer.
- Experience contributing to or leading technical hiring processes.
- Experience designing or administering technical assessments and interview formats.
- Excellent communication skills in English and the ability to effectively manage and align diverse stakeholders.
- Passion for talent development and commitment to high hiring standards.
