job purpose:
The Lead Engineer is responsible for leading the reliability and technical oversight of plant UHT pasteurization processing equipment.
responsibilities:
- Provide technical solutions and expertise in engineering and maintenance for batching, pasteurization, and aseptic storage systems.
- Plan and execute projects in addition to providing advanced technical support.
- Partner with equipment and maintenance technicians to grow the overall technical knowledge and performance of equipment.
- Provide technical direction for all pasteurization related equipment, overseeing and leading all technical aspects of reliability, efficiency, and maintenance.
- Serve as a top resource and technical expert for plant processing equipment.
- Support production with advanced equipment troubleshooting.
- Engineer solutions to improve overall equipment reliability.
- Determine root cause of reliabilities failures and implement measures to prevent future events.
- Analyze machine efficiency and reliability data to identify opportunities for improving performance.
- Train maintenance and equipment technicians to grow overall technical capabilities.
- Preform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
skills/qualifications required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of related engineering and manufacturing experience.
- Demonstrated ability to use tools, strategies, and data to solve complex technical issues.
- Professional, positive, organized, and ability to collaborate with others.
- Demonstrated ability to engineer and implement solutions to improve equipment.
- Hands-on experience with and solid technical understanding of processing equipment (PLCs, instrumentation, actuators, valves, pumps, motors, and mechanisms).
- Preferred controls and automation experience including PLC programming, RsLogix 500 and 5000, Studio 5000, Rockwell Historian, Factory Talk View ME/SE, VFDs, and Sensors/Instrumentation.
- Ability to read and interpret schematics (mechanical, P&ID, and electrical).
- Strong aptitude in troubleshooting and root cause analysis of equipment failures.
- Ability to lead and drive improvement in technical disciplines.
- Food and Beverage experience, specifically dairy processing.
- Working knowledge of FDA and PMO regulatory requirements.
- Ability to handle ambiguity and work in a fast paced, entrepreneurial environment.

- Ability to sit/stand/walk for prolonged periods
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
- Reaching/bending as necessary to service equipment.
- Exposure to industrial hazards (plant utility systems)

- Notify supervision of any repairs or adjustments that are required that may affect product quality or food safety.
- Understand, observe, and comply with the handling and usage of the color-coded container policy while in the Production Areas.
- Perform all duties necessary to meet Company, Customer and/or Government requirements/standards as prioritized by the Company.
- Ability to initiate action to prevent the occurrence of nonconformities relating to Food Safety and the Quality of the product, processes, quality system, or safety system.
- Identify and record any problems relating to Food Safety and the Quality of the ingredients, processes, quality system, or safety system.
- Control further processing or delivery of nonconforming product in terms of Food Safety and Quality issues until the deficiency or unsatisfactory condition has been corrected.
- In the event of absence, another employee with the same skill level will assume the duties and responsibilities as required.

Base pay range:
$90,000 - $130,000 USD
