JOB SUMMARY:

The Facilities Technician is responsible for supporting the maintenance, repair, and preventative maintenance of a multi-building campus that includes manufacturing, warehouse, and office environments. This role ensures facilities, equipment, and building systems operate safely, efficiently, and with minimal downtime. The ideal candidate has hands-on commercial facilities experience and thrives in a fast-paced, operational setting.

 

GENERAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Facilities Maintenance & Repairs

  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on building systems including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, lighting, doors, and general infrastructure.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve facility-related issues across manufacturing, warehouse, and office spaces.
  • Conduct preventative maintenance on equipment and building systems to reduce downtime and extend asset life.
  • Respond promptly to maintenance requests and facility emergencies.

Manufacturing & Warehouse Support

  • Support facility infrastructure tied to manufacturing and warehouse operations.
  • Coordinate minor repairs and adjustments to ensure production and fulfillment areas remain operational.
  • Identify potential facility risks that could impact safety, productivity, or compliance.

Preventative Maintenance & Inspections

  • Execute preventative maintenance schedules and document completed work.
  • Perform regular inspections of building systems, safety equipment, and common areas.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance logs and update work order systems as required.

Safety & Compliance

  • Follow safety procedures and OSHA guidelines.
  • Ensure facilities meet local building codes and safety regulations.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Document and keep required records of repairs and maintenance.

Vendor & Team Collaboration

  • Partner with external contractors and vendors when specialized repairs are required.
  • Work cross-functionally with manufacturing, warehouse, and office teams to prioritize facility needs.
  • Provide recommendations for facility improvements and efficiency upgrades.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in commercial facilities maintenance, preferably within a manufacturing or industrial environment, and with multi-building campuses.
  • Working knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and general building systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret basic blueprints, manuals, and technical documents.
  • Experience using maintenance tracking or work order systems is preferred.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in varied environments (manufacturing floor, warehouse, office areas).
  • Strong communication skills and a team-oriented mindset.
  • Must be able to work a day shift (specific hours to be determined based on operational needs).
  • Occasional flexibility may be required to support urgent facility needs.
  • Technical certification in a related trade (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, etc.).
  • OSHA certification or safety training experience.

 

Knowledge Skills and ABILITIES:

  • Knowledge of commercial building systems, mechanical equipment, and preventative maintenance practices.
  • Basic understanding of electrical systems (including safe lockout/tagout procedures).
  • Ability to diagnose issues and perform hands-on repairs with minimal supervision.
  • Familiarity with tools, equipment, and materials used in facilities maintenance.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and respond to urgent issues effectively.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team.
  • Basic computer skills for work order tracking and documentation.

 

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Work performed across a multi-building campus including manufacturing floors, warehouse environments, and office spaces.
  • Exposure to varying temperatures, noise levels, dust, and moving equipment in manufacturing and warehouse areas.
  • Frequent walking between buildings and prolonged periods of standing.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 75 lbs.
  • May require climbing ladders, working at heights, and working in confined spaces.
  • Required use of appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Occasional schedule flexibility may be required to address urgent facility needs.
  • Work is indoors/outdoors over varied terrain and in all weather conditions.
