Senior UX Researcher

Remote - USA

User experience is integral to Fleetio's culture and how we build products together. One of our core beliefs as a company is "Design is an important part of everything we do."

We’re looking for a Senior UX Researcher to join our growing research practice and help drive meaningful insights across our product teams—especially within Fleetio’s SaaS product. In this role, you’ll report to our Director, Product Design, and collaborate with our Staff UX Researcher, a team of talented designers and cross-functional partners to deliver high-impact research that informs strategy and enhances product experiences.

You’ll be empowered to lead end-to-end research initiatives, guide stakeholders toward customer-informed decisions, and strengthen the way we build empathy across the organization. If you're an experienced researcher who enjoys working on complex B2B workflows, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and loves connecting dots between users and business goals—we’d love to hear from you.

A little about us…Fleetio is a modern software platform that helps thousands of organizations around the world manage their fleet operations. Transportation technology is a hot market and we’re leading the charge, with raving fans and new customers signing up every day. We raised $450M in Series D in June of 2025 and are on an exciting trajectory as a company. Fleetio is also a proud founding member of the Rails Foundation!

More about our team and company:

Who you are

You’re a seasoned UX researcher who’s passionate about uncovering user needs and driving strategic impact through research. You bring a deep toolkit of qualitative and quantitative methods and know how to adapt them to different contexts. You’re as comfortable facilitating discovery as you are validating concepts or evaluating usability—and you know how to balance rigor with speed in a fast-moving product environment.

You enjoy mentoring others in best practices, but also love getting into the weeds yourself. You’re a compelling storyteller who makes insights memorable and actionable. You're collaborative, curious, and thrive when partnering across Product, Design, and Engineering to drive alignment around user needs.

Your impact

  • Drive high-impact research initiatives – Design and execute end-to-end studies using methods like interviews, usability testing, surveys, and ethnography to generate actionable insights that drive product decisions
  • Collaborate cross-functionally – Partner closely with Product, Design, and Engineering to inform roadmaps and ensure our solutions solve the right problems
  • Contribute to foundational understanding – Develop and maintain user personas, JTBD frameworks, and journey maps that serve as reference points across teams
  • Support and elevate the research practice – Refine standards, improve tools and workflows, contribute to a shared research repository, and deepen the organization's understanding of UX research
  • Promote empathy and insight-sharing – Champion a user-centered mindset by communicating findings in engaging ways and advocating for our users across the organization
  • Mentor and guide – Support teammates (designers and PMs) in applying research techniques and fostering a culture of continuous learning

Your experience

  • 5+ years of UX research experience, ideally in a B2B SaaS context
  • Expertise in both generative and evaluative research methods, with a strong track record of delivering insights that shape product strategy
  • Experience working in close partnership with cross-functional product teams
  • Strong communication skills, with ability to craft compelling stories, engage stakeholders, and facilitate workshops
  • Familiarity with research tools like Sprig, HeyMarvin, Lyssna (or others), and openness to exploring new methods
  • Strong prioritization and organizational skills in a fast-paced environment, balancing multiple research projects at once
  • (Bonus) Experience in the transportation or logistics industry

Race & Ethnicity Definitions

If you believe you belong to any of the categories of protected veterans listed below, please indicate by making the appropriate selection. As a government contractor subject to the Vietnam Era Veterans Readjustment Assistance Act (VEVRAA), we request this information in order to measure the effectiveness of the outreach and positive recruitment efforts we undertake pursuant to VEVRAA. Classification of protected categories is as follows:

A "disabled veteran" is one of the following: a veteran of the U.S. military, ground, naval or air service who is entitled to compensation (or who but for the receipt of military retired pay would be entitled to compensation) under laws administered by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs; or a person who was discharged or released from active duty because of a service-connected disability.

Voluntary Self-Identification of Disability

Form CC-305
OMB Control Number 1250-0005
Expires 04/30/2026

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
