Manager, Talent Development and Performance

About the Role
We are seeking a Talent Development & Performance professional to join our People Team and help lead the design, execution, and evolution of our Learning & Development and Performance Management strategies. This individual will serve as a strategic partner to key stakeholders across the organization, helping to align talent development initiatives with business objectives and drive a high-performance culture at scale. This role will focus on building & supporting programs that enable teams to thrive by equipping them with the skills, knowledge, and growth opportunities they need to close the gap between their potential and their performance.
This is a hybrid position with on-site expectations of 3 days per week in our New York Headquarters. For candidates outside of the NY/NJ area, you may be eligible for our relocation assistance program.
What You’ll Do
Learning & Development Strategy:
- Support alignment of learning programs with department leader needs, growth objectives, and business goals.
- Support the design and implementation of a scalable learning curriculum.
Strategic Program Management & Implementation:
- Assist with delivering & optimizing the Onboarding curriculum to increase performance and retention of new hires.
- Support the design of a company-wide AI upskilling program.
- Gather and analyze data regarding learning program effectiveness, including engagement, retention, and performance metrics.
Performance Management & Optimization:
- Support the evolution of our performance management process, including annual review cycles and a continuous feedback culture.
- Collaborate with managers and teams to set clear performance expectations, provide coaching, and ensure alignment with organizational objectives.
- Develop strategies to support underperforming employees, providing guidance and resources to help them meet expectations and coaching leaders when an exit is necessary.
Talent Development & Leadership Growth:
- Support initiatives aimed at retaining high-potential talent, in partnership with People Operations and department leaders.
- Support manager development and growth through programming to enhance their leadership capabilities.
- Act as a trusted advisor to help individuals chart their professional development within the company.
Employee Engagement & Retention:
- Collaborate with the People Operations and Leadership teams to drive employee engagement initiatives that support a high-performance culture.
- Implement programs that foster retention and a strong sense of purpose among employees.
Key Qualifications
- 5+ years of relevant work experience, e.g. People Operations, Management Consulting, Business Operations / Chief of Staff, Learning & Development, etc.
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple, high-priority initiatives at once while meeting deadlines.
- Experience designing and delivering both in-person and virtual learning programs that drive organizational impact.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present to various audiences and foster engagement across all levels of the organization.
- Highly analytical mindset with the ability to gather and use data to inform strategy and continuously improve development programs.
- Strong interpersonal skills, able to build relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels, from individual contributors to executive leadership.
- Experience in a fast-paced startup or scaling organization preferred, with the ability to adapt to change and thrive in dynamic environments.
The compensation range for this role will be commensurate with the candidate's experience and Flex's internal leveling guidelines and benchmarks. For working locations in NY/NJ/CA, the base salary pay range will be $138,000 - $150,000.
