Sr. Consultant - Business Intelligence

Remote / United States - Full-Time

We are seeking a highly skilled Business Intelligence Sr. Consultant to design, develop, and maintain business intelligence dashboards, reports, and data visualizations that support strategic and operational decision-making. The ideal candidate will possess strong Tableau and PowerBI development expertise, experience working with large datasets, and the ability to translate business requirements into actionable reporting solutions.  

 

What You'll Work On 

  • Design, develop, and maintain interactive Tableau and PowerBI dashboards, scorecards, and reports. 
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather reporting requirements and translate them into effective visualization solutions.  
  • Connect Tableau to various data sources including SQL databases, cloud platforms, data warehouses, and flat files.  
  • Develop and optimize Tableau and PowerBI data models, calculations, parameters, filters, and dashboard actions.  
  • Create and maintain automated reporting solutions that improve data accessibility and reduce manual effort.  
  • Perform data validation, troubleshooting, and quality assurance to ensure report accuracy and consistency.  
  • Write complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and database views to support reporting requirements.  
  • Monitor dashboard performance and implement optimization techniques to improve efficiency and scalability.  
  • Develop documentation, data dictionaries, and user guides for reporting solutions.  
  • Partner with Data Engineering, Analytics, and Business teams to support enterprise reporting initiatives.  
  • Ensure adherence to data governance, security, and compliance standards.  
  • Provide end-user support, training, and guidance on Tableau reporting capabilities and best practices. 

 

What You'll Bring 

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, Business Intelligence, or a related field.  
  • 5+ years of experience in Tableau and/or PowerBI development and enterprise reporting.  
  • Strong expertise in Tableau Desktop, Tableau Server, and Tableau Cloud.  
  • Advanced SQL skills with experience querying and manipulating large datasets.  
  • Experience with relational databases such as SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL, Snowflake, or similar platforms.  
  • Strong understanding of data warehousing concepts, dimensional modeling, and ETL processes.  
  • Experience developing KPIs, metrics, and executive-level dashboards.  
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.  
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Bonus Points If You Have 

  • Tableau Desktop Certified Professional or Tableau Certified Data Analyst certification.  
  • Experience with Power BI, SSRS, Cognos, Business Objects, or other BI tools.  
  • Knowledge of Python, R, or other data analysis/programming languages.  
  • Experience working with cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud.  
  • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies.  
  • Experience working in healthcare, finance, retail, manufacturing, or consulting environments.

This is a remote role with approximately 50% travel. We are committed to pay equity and transparency. The compensation range for this position represents our good faith estimate of the range we reasonably expect to pay for this role at the time of posting. The actual compensation offered will be determined based on factors such as the candidate’s experience, skills, education, work location, and internal equity. 

In addition to base pay, employees may be eligible for discretionary bonuses, commissions, or other incentive programs, as well as a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical, dental, vision, 401(k), paid time off, etc. 

Estimated Compensation Range:

$125,000 - $150,000 USD
