As a hands-on role, the Senior Security Engineer is to collaborate with all parts of the organization. The role is responsible for cybersecurity controls, and processes to identify, protect, detect, respond, and recover to protect the organization and its assets. The focus is Fortra globally and our product lines. This includes collaborating on risk management, supply chain security, security assessments, identity and access management, and security awareness.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Drive the implementation of robust identity and access management (IAM) solutions and processes.
- Lead comprehensive project and product security assessments as part of the vendor risk management program.
- Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to understand security needs, evaluate the implications of proposed tools or solutions, and ensure security requirements are embedded throughout project lifecycles.
- Review security vulnerabilities and incidents, assess their risk and impact to Fortra, and recommend appropriate mitigation strategies.
- Contribute to internal security initiatives, including data loss prevention, vulnerability management, security awareness, and the development of security standards.
- Design, implement, and manage internal control assessment processes (e.g., internal audits), and support audit evidence collection.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with internal teams to promote a security-first mindset across the organization.
- Oversee the IT risk register, facilitating prioritization and impact assessments.
- Serve as a trusted advisor on security strategy, controls, and risk mitigation.

QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 7+ years of experience in Security, IT Operations, or related roles.
- CISSP or equivalent
- Strong understanding of modern identity and access management (IAM) solutions.
- Hands-on experience managing, configuring, and hardening Entra ID environments.
- Solid knowledge of network technologies, topologies, and connectivity mechanisms.
- Experience implementing cloud and on-premises security technologies
- Working knowledge of security tools, frameworks, and best practices.
- Ability to identify risks in business processes and communicate IT risks in clear, business-relevant terms.
- Capable of taking ownership and executing projects and initiatives independently
- Proficiency in programming or scripting languages is a plus.
- Strong interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to build relationships and communicate effectively with internal stakeholders and external vendors.
- Experience with M&A activity, global risks, and software development practices
- Advanced analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Collaborative team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

$100,000 - $130,000 USD
