What will you be doing?

  • Manage supplies and equipment, ensuring that students have access to the necessary materials and resources.
  • Demonstrate mastery of content knowledge.
  • Participate in school and organization-wide family events.
  • Provide individual and group instruction designed to meet individual needs and engage scholars.
  • Maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment that fosters creativity and collaboration, while modeling high emotional intelligence, strong communication, and interpersonal skills to foster a sense of belonging and high performance.
  • Create a structured and progressive learning experience for scholars of different ages and skill levels, developing and delivering standards-aligned lessons that encourage creativity and self-expression, while evaluating scholars’ work and providing constructive feedback to help them improve.
  • Stay abreast of the latest trends in education, teaching strategies, and professional development by attending workshops, conferences, and other related events.
  • Remain knowledgeable about inclusive and representative curriculum and resources, as well as intervention and referral services and/or special services.
  • Maintain awareness of cultural influences that impact the systems you are accountable for.
  • Be committed to living out our mission to address inequity and serve our scholars in an anti-discriminatory learning environment.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent)
  • You possess or are eligible for NJ certification in Spanish
  • Or you have a minimum undergraduate GPA of 3.00 (if graduated after Sept 2015) or 2.75 (before Sept 2015) for NJ certification requirements
  • Must be committed to our mission of preparing all scholars for college and embodying our core values of caring, respect, responsibility, and honesty
