Title: Accounting Coordinator

Location: St. Louis, Missouri

Initial term: 6 months

POSITION SUMMARY:

This position will support the daily activity for Accounts Payable and Indirect Purchasing activities (distribution centers). They will support AP related activities including daily special handling checks, GRIR, follow-up on outstanding checks, and ad-hoc AP related research. Distribution center activity may be assigned as needed. The position will also have responsibilities during period end close activities.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Distribute locally printed and special handling check payments and related communications
• Follow-up with vendors and document due-diligence of outstanding and stale-dated check payments
• Post GRIR clearings as assigned
• Review and resolve GRIR balances as assigned
• Review and approve/deny payment date change requests
• Research and resolve outstanding credit memos
• Review Parked/Blocked invoices (reporting and follow-up as needed)
• Research and resolve vendor invoice/payment issues
• Help resolve ACH rejections and check payment issues
• Perform period end close requirements
• Assist with 1099 data collection, review, and submission

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

• Education: HS diploma; some college coursework preferred
• Experience with accounting in an office environment
• Experience level: 1 – 2 years of related experience
• Skills: Knowledge of Microsoft Excel (Pivot Tables and VLOOKUP);
• Ability to collaborate with other individuals and work teams; effective verbal and written communication skills
• Prefer someone with ERP experience; SAP experience would be a plus
• Proficient in Outlook and MS Word
