Who You Are:

As our Community Relations Manager, you’ll be the living bridge between our organization and the pulse of Afton, Dickens County, and the surrounding region. Your mission: cultivate authentic relationships drive engagement that’s both meaningful and measurable, and ensure the region is prepared for the development of our Afton-based data center business. Galaxy has aggressive growth plans in the region, and you will be on the front line – ensuring that we are good community members and there is mutual support between the company and the County. Galaxy and the region’s success should be connected, and you will help ensure both company and region are in lockstep and progressing positively together. You won't just represent us — you'll embody us in the community.

What You'll Do:

  • Be the face, voice, and heart of the brand in Afton, Dickens County, and the surrounding region.
  • Build and maintain strong, strategic relationships with local leaders, organizations, and residents
  • Identify Galaxy resource requirements and ensure we are not placing strain or disrupting the local community
  • Identify opportunities to invest and develop in local projects and initiatives that may support Galaxy’s growth plans
  • Launch and manage community-focused initiatives, events, and partnerships
  • Monitor sentiment, identify opportunities, and report on community engagement impact
  • Advise leadership on local concerns with empathy, speed, and respect while seeking opportunities to build strong relationships.
  • Serve as a compass, guiding internal teams on local context, history, and dynamics.
  • Assist as needed on government relations projects, providing insights, reporting, and attending events as needed.

What We're Looking For:

  • 3+ years proven experience in community engagement, outreach, or public affairs
  • Dickens County: You live in Dickens County (or nearby) and have current, active, and trust-based relationships in the area
  • Exceptional communicator with emotional intelligence and professional polish
  • Comfortable navigating grassroots conversations and strategic boardrooms alike
  • Self-starter, high-integrity, solutions-focused mindset
  • Experience in nonprofit, education, energy, or local government sectors
  • Familiarity with digital community engagement tools and social media
  • Highly organized and an ability to manage end-to-end projects is a plus
