Position Summary
General Atlantic is hiring a Director of Marketing to join our New York-based team, reporting to the Global Head of Strategic Marketing. This is an exciting opportunity to play a critical role in driving GA's Marketing and Brand strategy — and to shape the team at an extraordinary moment of growth and ambition, as General Atlantic deepens its global reach and expands its investor engagement across new channels and audiences.
We’re looking for a strategic marketer to build and advance bold brand and multi-product marketing initiatives that distinguish and enhance our positioning across institutional investors, ultra-high-net-worth individuals (UHNW), and select retail channels, while preserving the premium feel of the General Atlantic brand. As a thought partner to the Global Head of Strategic Marketing, you will develop and lead a comprehensive marketing strategy, driving business growth, channel and audience diversification, and brand presence.
You’ll collaborate closely with Communications, Capital Solutions and other key internal stakeholders to bring our vision and values to life, building the marketing infrastructure needed to support our expanding platform.
Responsibilities
- Oversee core initiatives related to GA’s marketing strategy and Brand, partnering closely with Content Strategy Lead to ensure individual strategies align to overarching goals and objectives
- Lead ongoing audience segmentation analysis and strategy implementation, and ensure Content and Digital strategies reflect priority audiences
- Assist with shaping the way GA engages with each audience type (institutional investors, financial advisors, UHNW investors) through impactful content, digital storytelling, thought leadership, virtual and in-person events and conferences.
- Oversee the creation and execution of integrated marketing campaigns to support new product launches and existing fundraises
- Elevate brand visibility and ensure consistent, compelling messaging across all channels and regions
- Serve as key marketing point of contact for client/prospect data efforts across the firm, ensuring data is usable for all Marketing efforts (e.g. Salesforce)
- Establish KPIs and reporting frameworks to measure the effectiveness of marketing campaigns and cross-channel efforts and ensure Content and Digital KPIs ladder up to overarching reporting framework.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required
- 7-10 years of experience, preferably with marketing roles in asset management, private equity, or wealth management, with demonstrated success in brand and product marketing.
- Preferred experience in institutional and retail (including UHNW) marketing, with a general understanding of regulatory and relationship considerations for each.
- Strong background in marketing operations, digital transformation, and campaign measurement to support scalable growth.
- Knowledge of integrated marketing, including digital, social, experiential, and traditional channels; skilled at tailoring messages for segmented audiences.
- Excellent communicator with the ability to influence across functions and geographies.
- Strategic thinker who is also a hands-on builder, comfortable creating structure in evolving environments.
- Excellent storyteller with attention to detail and accuracy, effective and strong written and verbal communication skills.
- An effective collaborator with the ability to develop credibility and trust, whether working alone or partnering with people at all levels and in all locations.
