Geotab is seeking an Application Support Engineering who will provide escalated engineering support and planning, testing and automation of maintenance tasks, supporting all of Geotab’s production applications and servers including facilitating the maintenance of normal service operations. What you'll do:
As a Application Support Engineering your key area of responsibility will be providing escalated engineering support and planning, testing and automation of maintenance tasks, supporting all of Geotab’s production applications and servers including facilitating the maintenance of normal service operations.
You will need to work closely with development teams. To be successful in this role you will be a strong team player, highly organized, and able to work well under pressure and respond to fast changing priorities and deadlines. In addition, the successful candidate will have strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
How you'll make an impact:
- Troubleshoot production issues and coordinate with development teams to implement fixes.
- Collaborate with team members to improve engineering tools and dashboards for monitoring computing architecture.
- Plan and execute ad-hoc maintenance tasks.
- Implement automation tools and frameworks to automate routine tasks.
- Design, test and execute application and sever maintenance tasks.
- Maintain supporting documentation for areas of expertise.
- Conduct post-incident reviews and identify areas of improvement for ling term reliability.
What you'll bring to the role:
- 3-5 years of required previous experience in Application/Technical or a similar role Support.
- Post-secondary Diploma/Degree specialization in Computer Science, Electrical, Software Engineering or a related field.
- Experience with Powershell, Python, SQL, Ansible and Linux-based systems
- Strong troubleshooting skills with a systematic problem solving approach.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to problem solve well-judged decisions.
- Strong team player with the ability to engage with all levels of the organization.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- To be eligible, candidates must have continuously resided in the continental United States for at least three years immediately preceding their application.
