Wiring technician

Long Beach, CA

Why join Giga

  • The Pace: We're building at a speed most companies talk about but never actually operate at. If you've been bored somewhere else, you won't be here.
  • The Impact: Every person at Giga touches the work that matters. No layers, no waiting for approval chains. You'll see your fingerprints on what we ship.
  • The Team: A team of operators defining the future of AI infrastructure. We recruit A-players from the most innovative companies in the world, and they choose Giga because the work here means more.
  • The Moment: AI doesn't run without power, and that's us. Giga is the picks and shovels behind the AI revolution. This industry is about to explode, and you'll be in the room where it's already happening.

What you'll do

As a Wiring Technician, you will be hands-on at the heart of our operation — bringing complex energy systems to life from raw components to finished assemblies. This is not a role for someone who wants to watch from the sidelines. You will own the quality and craftsmanship of every unit you touch, directly impacting the speed at which we bring critical energy infrastructure online.

Where You'll Work

This role will be based in our Long Beach facility as part of the production team.

Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret technical drawings, assembly schematics, and documentation to ensure accurate and compliant builds
  • Run, route, and connect point-to-point wiring and cables strictly using schematics, blueprints, and engineering specs.
  • Drill, tap, bolt, and rivet electrical systems, subassemblies, and conduits into place with extreme precision.
  • Perform visual inspections and basic functional checks prior to handoff to test and QC
  • Inspect and test your own wiring installations for resistance and operational defects. If something is broken, fix it.
  • Identify and communicate assembly defects, discrepancies, or design issues to engineering in real time
  • Collaborate directly with our engineering team to solve production roadblocks and improve manufacturing blueprints on the fly.
  • Track inventory by tagging components accurately, and keep your workspace pristine and safe
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives on the assembly floor

Requirements

  • You have 2+ years of experience wiring or installing electrical control and relay panels.
  • You can read and interpret complex electrical schematics and blueprints effortlessly.
  • You possess the dexterity and focus required to build flawless hardware systems.
  • You are self-motivated, work exceptionally well without supervision, and are willing to put in occasional overtime to hit critical shipping deadlines.
  • High school diploma or equivalent

Bonus Points

  • Experience with energy or power systems equipment (switchgear, battery systems, etc.)
  • Technical trade certification or vocational training in a related field
  • Familiarity with electrical assembly including wiring, terminations, or harness building
  • Prior experience in a high-growth startup or fast-paced manufacturing environment

Benefits

  • Subsidized health, dental, and vision insurance
  • Equity (options) in a rapidly growing startup
  • 401(k) with 4% employer match
  • Parental leave
  • Healthcare and Dependent Care FSA or HSA
  • Commuter benefits
  • Monthly team onsites where all offices come in-person to collaborate

Who we hire

We hire people who thrive in chaos and get sharper under pressure. You don't wait to be told what to do, you spot the gap and fill it. When there's work to be done, you do it. You make decisions with the information you have, move fast, and adjust along the way. We're not looking for perfect; we're looking for people who get things done.
