Role Overview

As Senior Design Manager, you’ll own and lead the evolution of Glance AI’s visual identity across campaigns, platforms, and global markets. You’ll be responsible not only for setting creative direction, but also for translating vision into clear plans, timelines, and outputs—ensuring the team delivers high-quality work, on time and at scale.

You’ll manage and inspire a multidisciplinary team of designers, raising the bar through hands-on design leadership, strong feedback, and best-in-class execution. With a deep understanding of digital-first design, interaction, and UI/UX principles—along with a sharp pulse on US pop culture and consumer behavior—you’ll help shape work that is culturally relevant, scalable, and future-forward.

Key Responsibilities

Creative & Strategic Leadership

• Design Direction:Define and evolve Glance AI’s visual and interaction design language across brand, social, digital experiences, and campaigns.
  • Strategic Ownership: Partner with senior stakeholders across marketing, product, and content to align design strategy with business and brand goals.
  • Hands-On Excellence: Lead by example—actively contributing design work that demonstrates exceptional taste, craft, and clarity, inspiring higher-quality output from junior designers.

Team & Delivery Management

• People Leadership:Manage, mentor, and grow a team of 6–10 designers, fostering a culture of high standards, collaboration, and creative confidence.
  • Workflow & Planning: Own resourcing, project planning, and timelines—breaking down briefs into clear phases, priorities, and deliverables.
  • Delivery Accountability: Ensure the team consistently delivers high-quality work on time, balancing speed with craft in a fast-moving environment.
  • Quality Bar: Provide strong creative feedback, guidance, and hands-on problem-solving to elevate execution across all levels of the team.

Digital, Interaction & UI/UX Focus

• Digital-First Design Leadership:Oversee design for social platforms, digital campaigns, product-adjacent experiences, and interactive content.
  • UI/UX & Interaction Thinking: Guide designers on layout, motion, hierarchy, usability, and interaction principles to ensure intuitive and engaging experiences.
  • Social Systems: Own and evolve scalable social design systems that drive engagement while maintaining brand consistency.

Culture, Innovation & Scale

• Trend & Culture Leadership:Stay ahead of shifts in fashion, tech, internet culture, and American pop culture—translating insights into proactive creative opportunities.
  • Global Lens: Lead design solutions for international markets, ensuring strong resonance with US audiences while maintaining global consistency.
  • AI & Innovation: Champion the use of AI-powered design tools and emerging technologies to improve creative exploration, speed, and productivity.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Act as a trusted creative partner to leadership and cross-functional teams in a fast-paced start-up environment.

What We’re Looking For

• 10+ years of experiencein graphic, digital, or visual design, with 3–5 years in a senior leadership or people-management role.
  • Proven experience managing and delivering work through teams of 6–10 designers.
  • A strong portfolio showcasing digital-first, interaction-led, and brand-driven work, including campaigns and systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to set direction, plan timelines, and drive teams to deliver on schedule.
  • Experience in fashion, lifestyle, media, or tech categories preferred.
  • Strong understanding of UI/UX and interaction design principles, even if not a pure product role.
  • Deep connection to US consumer sensibilities and contemporary pop culture.
  • A confident leader who inspires through both vision and personal design excellence.
  • Comfort integrating and advocating for AI and emerging tools within creative workflows.
