Gong is looking for a senior event marketing leader to own and evolve Gong's third-party event strategy. This role is responsible for building a best-in-class portfolio of industry conferences, sponsorships, programs, and activations that generate and accelerate pipeline, strengthen customer relationships, and elevate Gong's brand.
This is a strategic, high-visibility role that requires equal parts strategic planning, business acumen and operational excellence. You'll define where Gong invests, build scalable event strategies aligned to GTM priorities, influence senior stakeholders, negotiate high-value partnerships, and deliver flawless execution from planning through post-event measurement.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Own Gong's Third-Party Event Strategy
- Develop and lead Gong's global third-party event strategy, including industry conferences, sponsorships, programs, and activations.
- Evaluate opportunities through the lens of business impact, audience fit, pipeline generation, customer engagement, and brand value to determine where Gong should invest.
- Build and manage the annual third-party events roadmap, ensuring alignment with company priorities, sales objectives, and regional GTM plans.
- Continuously evaluate portfolio performance and identify opportunities to optimize, expand, or sunset programs based on business outcomes.
- Lead End-to-End Program Execution
- Own every aspect of event execution, including sponsorship negotiations, contract management, booth strategy and design, logistics, field enablement, executive preparation, content coordination, onsite management, and post-event follow-up.
- Establish and maintain exceptionally high standards of operational excellence, ensuring every event reflects Gong's brand and delivers a seamless experience for customers, prospects, partners, and internal stakeholders.
- Anticipate risks, proactively solve problems, and drive projects forward with minimal oversight.
- Influence Cross-Functional Teams
- Serve as a trusted strategic partner to Sales, Field Marketing, Demand Generation, Customer Success, Partnerships, Brand, and Executive Leadership.
- Align event investments with pipeline goals, account priorities, and business objectives while balancing stakeholder needs and budget considerations.
- Build strong relationships internally and externally to maximize the impact of every program.
- Measure & optimize:
- Define success metrics for every event and evaluate performance across pipeline, revenue influence, customer engagement, executive meetings, and brand impact.
- Present recommendations, insights, and portfolio performance to senior leadership, using data to inform future investment decisions.
- Continuously improve processes, reporting, and operational efficiency to scale Gong's third-party event program.
- Manage events & work streams across Strategic Events Portfolio:
- Play a key role in planning and executing Gong’s annual flagship conference, Celebrate, owning critical workstreams such as: registration strategy, sponsor management, ancillary programs, logistics, and more.
- Support and own proprietary event programs (roadshows, dinners, etc). Everyone on the events team owns & operates programs across the portfolio.
QUALIFICATIONS
- 10+ years of experience leading B2B event marketing or field marketing programs, preferably within high-growth SaaS organizations.
- Demonstrated success owning and evolving a strategic event portfolio with measurable impact on pipeline, revenue, and customer engagement.
- Proven ability to think strategically while executing with precision and consistently delivering exceptional experiences.
- Strong executive presence with experience influencing senior leaders and building alignment across Sales, Marketing, Partnerships, and Executive stakeholders.
- Outstanding project management and organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple complex initiatives simultaneously.
- Strong commercial acumen with experience evaluating investment decisions, managing significant event budgets, negotiating sponsorships, and measuring ROI.
- Highly proactive, resourceful, and comfortable operating independently in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
- A continuous improvement mindset with a passion for raising the bar and building scalable, best-in-class event programs.
- Willingness to travel as needed to support key events (up to 35-40% in high seasons) throughout the year.

The annual salary hiring range for this position is $138,000 - $210,000 USD.
Compensation is based on factors unique to each candidate, including, but not limited to, job-related skills, qualification, education, experience, and location. At Gong, we have a location-based compensation structure, which means there may be a different range for candidates in other locations. The total compensation package for this position, in addition to base compensation, may include incentive compensation, bonus, equity, and benefits. Some of our sales compensation programs also offer the potential to achieve above targeted earnings for those who exceed their sales targets.
