ABOUT THE ROLE
Are you the person who can’t look at a restaurant menu without mentally redesigning the typography and fixing the kerning? Do you get a genuine thrill from finding the perfect color palette that makes a brand’s personality jump off the screen? Of course you know that great design isn't just about looking pretty—it’s about building a connection—and keeping that visual energy high is top of mind in all you do!
If you answered “Obvi” to the above, you might be the Associate Designer we are looking for! A creative whiz and Adobe-pro who loves turning big ideas into stunning graphics, social posts, and brand assets. You’re here to make sure everything the flock sees is 100% polarized perfection!
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Execute high-quality graphic design assets that reflect the fun and authentic goodr brand voice
- Create scroll-stopping visuals for social media, email marketing, and paid advertisements
- Assist in the design and production of packaging, print materials, and onsite signage
- Support the senior creative team to brainstorm and develop visual concepts for new product launches
- Maintain and organize a digital asset library so the flock can always find the right files
- Refine and iterate on designs based on feedback from cross-functional partners
- Ensure every design is technically perfect for its destination, whether it’s a mobile screen or a billboard
- Basically Marie Kondo-ing the heck out of our design files and visual consistency
- No direct reports – you get to lead the creative execution of your projects without managing your fellow flamingos
- This role is in the Design Flock and will report directly to the Design Manager
- Perform other related duties as assigned
ABOUT THE IDEAL CANDIDATE
- May or may not have a degree...we don’t care (bonus points for Basset Hound Science or Dinosaur Law)
- Brings 1+ years of experience in digital and print design (show us those internships or cool side projects!)
- Navigates the Adobe Creative Suite and Figma like a total pro
- Shows off a killer portfolio that proves they can handle everything from social ads to funky packaging
- Loves TYPOGRAPHY! Lives for COLOR PALETTES! Can’t get enough of BOLD DESIGN!
- Possesses a sharp eye for detail and can spot a pixel out of place from a mile away
- Understands how to take a big, wild idea and translate it into a clean, on-brand graphic
- Uses their strong working knowledge of Asana to help keep the creative flamingos in a row
- Operates as a self-starter who can rely on their skill in prioritizing and organizing their workflow to coordinate multiple departments
- Displays a dependable nature with the willingness to take the initiative and work with a sense of urgency
- Loves the work more than a paycheck
- Thinks planning and organizing are fun
- Loves to create order out of chaos
- Is happy to give away credit to the team
- Loves getting and giving feedback
- Is into personal growth
