POSITION OVERVIEW

The SVP, Account Director will lead a large established account as the lead brand steward, reporting into a tenured EVP. This integrated role includes development of integrated campaigns consisting of TV/content, digital, and social initiatives, requiring a deep understanding of our client's full portfolio. The successful candidate will manage complexity while developing and implementing brand communication strategies and promotional campaigns. The role demands a dynamic approach, a brand-building and retail at speed mind-set, managing a highly complex marketing calendar, and a continuously evolving relationship in our ever-changing marketing landscape, and using proven judgment and management skills to handle all responsibilities. The successful candidate will oversee a large multi-disciplinary team serving both national and global clients, identifying new growth opportunities within existing brands and agency new business efforts. Must be social savvy. Must be team and culture builder. The SVP, Account Director will champion our teams' efforts in making Famously Effective work for our clients, ensuring excellence in delivering the annual scope of work.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Client + Brand Advisor
    • Demonstrate thorough understanding of your client’s market landscape, including competition, with a perspective and POV on trends that bring innovative thinking and ensure forward-looking work.
    • Use your experience and deep understanding of the client’s business, including emerging trends, consumer behavior, and the ever-evolving innovation landscape relevant to your client’s business, to establish yourself as a thought leader and help set the direction for your accounts.
    • Serve as a key point person for all day-to-day client communications across the team, which include but are not limited to daily updates to the more senior client-agency evaluations.
    • Develop and maintain strong collaborative internal and external relationships, becoming the client’s go-to agency resource for any and all initiatives.
    • Run senior client level meetings (often daily with CMO level), ensure work is delivered on time, on brief, and within budget, and take a proactive and transparent approach should the team not be able to deliver within the budget/timeline provided.
    • Partner with the EVP to create a measurable and quantifiable dashboard to report on the client-agency relationship status.
  • Creative Collaborator and Creative Champion
    • Work seamlessly with your cross-discipline leadership team, as a team, and work to deliver famously effective work and thinking to our clients every day. 
    • Set our people, presentations and work up for success. 
    • You work with your creative and strategy leadership partners to own driving a culture of creative ambition with both clients and your cross-discipline agency teams.
    • Oversee and act as a client-centric contributor to project level work, shaping the approach or presentation based on the client business and brand strategy, organizational dynamics, and agency positioning.
    • Oversee live-action television shoots (including attending pre-production meetings and shoots), supervise post-production processing (including process review, rough cuts, etc.), and work on digital and social initiatives (website builds, upkeep, social media, landing pages, and microsites)

  • Growth Oriented Agency Leader
    • Lead Account team members, provide cross-disciplinary leadership by being prepared, proactive, thorough, fair, and balanced, and have a willingness to do what’s required by clearly communicating and managing expectations.
    • Partner with the EVP on management and drive long-term planning of the account.
    • Run the operations of the cross-discipline team - thinking as much about “how” we are working - ensuring clarity of roles and responsibilities across the team.
    • Develop accurate budgets and timelines, manage budget in partnership with Project Management and Finance, support senior Account leadership by continuously reviewing financial performance at the top and bottom line, and successfully forecast against a project pipeline and guide investment decisions toward healthy agency profitability.

WHAT YOU WILL NEED:

  • 12+ years in a related environment (marketing, agency, product, etc)
  • Experience in full 360 integrated work, including but not limited to TV, content, digital, social, and OOH
  • Strong digital and social acumen a must
  • Experience in developing and leading work in omni-channel format
  • Experience in partnering with clients and strategy team in shaping, leading the prep for, and implementing insights from market-research projects
  • Experience in building strong client relationships that result in excellent work and drive organic growth
  • Experience in effective account housekeeping (timeline and budget development and management)
  • High creative output standards, expecting the full team to be passionate, focused, and committed to making Famously Effective work for our clients.
  • Proven track record of supervising and developing Account talent.

The base salary for this position at the time of this posting may range from $225,000 to $240,000.
