Senior Product Designer - Contractor
About Us:
Grow Therapy is on a mission to serve as the trusted partner for therapists growing their practice, and patients accessing high-quality care. Powered by technology, we are a three-sided marketplace that empowers providers, augments insurance payors, and serves patients. Following the mass increase in depression and anxiety, the need for accessibility is more important than ever. To make our vision for mental healthcare a reality, we’re building a team of entrepreneurs and mission-driven go-getters. Since launching in February 2021, we’ve empowered more than ten thousand therapists and hundreds of thousands of clients across the country and insurance landscape. We’ve raised more than $178mm of funding from Sequoia Capital, Transformation Capital, TCV, SignalFire, and others.
The Opportunity:
We’re looking for a freelance Sr. Product Designer to join our team on a contract basis for 4 months (April – August 2026). You’ll own design across two product areas: our internal tools and our client-facing payments experience. The work ranges from building a new internal tool from early concepts through a shippable MVP, to exploring improvements to how clients understand and manage their healthcare costs.
This is a hands-on IC role embedded within our cross-functional pod structure. You’ll work directly with PMs and engineers, own your work end-to-end, and ship real designs.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Design and ship internal tooling for our operations teams — building products that improve day-to-day workflows for internal specialists.
- Explore and design client-facing payment and insurance experiences — a mix of greenfield explorations and improvements to how clients understand and manage their healthcare costs.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Product Management, Engineering, and Operations stakeholders to bring designs from exploration to implementation-ready specs.
What We’re Looking For:
- End-to-end ownership — you’re comfortable going from a problem brief to a tested, implementation-ready design.
- Internal tools and ops tooling experience — you’ve designed admin panels, dashboards, workflow tools, or similar. You know how to make complex operational workflows usable.
- Cross-functional collaboration skills with proven ability to work effectively with Engineering, PM, and other disciplines
- Strategic mindset with a passion for 0-to-1 product development and the ability to see the bigger picture
- Exceptional craft with meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to pixel-perfect execution
- Prototyping expertise across multiple tools and mediums, with the ability to bring ideas to life quickly and effectively
You’ll Be a Good Fit If:
- 5+ years of product design experience with a strong portfolio demonstrating strategic thinking and exceptional execution
- Senior-level experience with proven track record of leading complex, high-impact product initiatives
- Experience working on consumer-facing and B2B or internal products with significant user impact
- Proficiency in design tools (Figma, Cursor, etc.)
- Strong understanding of design systems, accessibility, and responsive design principles
- Experience working in fast-paced, high-growth environments
- Excellent communication skills and ability to present and articulate design decisions
