Training and Development Specialist

About the role: 

The People and Talent team is thrilled to be adding a Training and Development Specialist to our growing team. In this role you will work closely with the Sr. Director of People, the Sr. Director of Clinical Program Development, and site Executive Directors to develop and optimize engaging and effective training content and curriculum. The Training Specialist will develop both operational and clinical training content and curriculum. In this role, you will also build and manage clinical competency checklists and evaluations in partnership with clinical leaders while also identifying areas for development. 

Location: Remote, CA is preferred; up to 15% travel as needed 

How you’ll make an impact: 

  • Foster a collaborative working relationship with both clinical and operational leaders across the organization to identify training and development needs. 
  • Create, edit, and publish creative and engaging courses via our LMS, Relias, while ensuring that company, visual communication, and brand standards are met. 
  • Deliver new hire and ongoing training that aligns with our standards of excellence for participant care. 
  • Develop, own and manage master training calendars/schedules in preparation for new site launches to ensure all onsite employees are fully trained. 
  • Coach additional training preceptors and senior leaders to lead local and remote content as needed. 
  • In Relias, manage the competency checklist process and work with clinical leaders to identify key skill gaps for development. 
  • Conduct ongoing refresher and cross-training modules in critical areas. 
  • Actively engage in constructive conversations with employees to help address improvement areas and formulate follow-up actions. 
  • Ensure employees are always compliant with HIPAA, CMS, and DHCS training guidelines as required by PACE organizations. 
  • Follow up with new employees after the initial training period. 
  • Monitor progress of assigned training plans and provide weekly reporting to leaders. 
  • Create and/or update standard operating procedures, documentation and team member resources. 
  • Conduct monthly, quarterly and annual training audits. Work with team members to ensure required trainings are completed. 
  • Act as the system administrator for our Learning Management System to ensure required trainings are completed and up to date. 

Prior experience and traits that drive success in this role: 

  • You’ve designed and built training content, curriculums and programs for a healthcare startup or healthcare organization. 
  • Prior experience with learning management systems and various learning delivery modalities, such as self-paced learning, mobile learning, instructor-led learning, asynchronous and synchronous e-learning, and blended learning. 
  • Hands on experience supporting the learning and training needs for a diverse employee population, including clinical team members. 
  • Experience with clinical competency checklists and management. 
  • You’re highly creative and detail-oriented. You find joy in teaching others new things.  
  • You are comfortable working in an ambiguous environment where training content and processes are yet to be created or need to be optimized. 
  • When challenges arise, you often ask why in order to identify the root cause and find creative solutions. 
  • You have regularly used and/or implemented similar technology: RISE/Articulate, Microsoft Office. 

Additional Details: 

  • Ability to travel onsite to our California clinics in preparation for site launch. 

Nice to have: 

  • Experience with the Relias Learning Management System. 
  • Experience in the Elder Care space and/or PACE. 

Compensation:  

We take into account an individual’s qualifications, skillset, and experience in determining final salary. This role is eligible for medical/dental/vision insurance, short and long-term disability, life insurance, flexible spending accounts, 401(k) savings, paid time off, and company-paid holidays. The expected annual salary range for this position is $65,000 – 75,000 annually and is bonus-eligible. The actual offer will be at the company’s sole discretion and determined by relevant business considerations, including the final candidate’s qualifications, years of experience, skillset, and geographic location.
