The Role:

We’re looking for an HRIS Manager to lead and optimize our People systems infrastructure, with a core focus on our Workday platform. This role is ideal for someone who thrives on system design, process automation, and analytics, and is energized by driving scalable, high-impact solutions that support the employee experience and business goals. The HRIS Manager will serve as the functional owner of Workday, responsible for configuration, vendor management, reporting and dashboards, roadmap execution, and overall system governance.

This is a highly cross-functional role. The ideal candidate brings experience stabilizing and evolving Workday post-implementation, enjoys streamlining complexity, and is energized by building process automation that balances scale, usability, and control. While not a people manager, this person will be a key leader within the People team and a primary contact for internal stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead all core HRIS functions including configuration of business processes, module expansion, security management, data loads, and reporting within Workday.
  • Own the Workday roadmap by developing and executing an annual plan that aligns with business priorities, budget, stakeholder input and change structures.
  • Provide daily systems support, including troubleshooting, break/fix resolution, reporting, dashboard maintenance, and user access management.
  • Design and document scalable workflows, user procedures, and training resources that enable automation and drive adoption across the business.
  • Ensure data integrity through audits and analysis and maintain consistent standards for data governance and accuracy.
  • Build and manage system integrations, ensuring functionality, accuracy, and up-to-date technical documentation.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Talent Acquisition, People Partners, Project Management Office, IT, Finance, and others to ensure an integrated and consistent employee experience.
  • Drive the execution of recurring People programs within Workday such as benefits enrollment, compensation reviews, performance cycles, and year-end payroll operations.
  • Lead all HRIS-related testing for system releases, new configurations, enhancements, and module implementations.
  • Support compliance structures such as SOC 2 controls and SOX readiness, leading controls testing, developing reports and responding to audit requests.
  • Work with HR leadership to develop change controls, case management, project/sprint management structures and resource planning for the HRIS function.
  • Monitor and respond to HRIS-related inquiries through established support channels.
  • Contribute to broader People systems transformation initiatives and provide backup coverage for adjacent People Operations functions as needed.
  • Maintain a high standard of confidentiality and discretion.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of experience in an HRIS or People Systems role with direct Workday configuration, support, and strategy ownership.
  • Experience building and supporting simple integrations (e.g., EIB, API, etc.).
  • Experience supporting internal control frameworks like SOX, SOC 2, and GDPR.
  • Experience leading or supporting a Workday implementation, including post-go-live optimization and vendor management.
  • Strong process mapping and systems thinking capabilities with a bias for simplicity, usability, system hygiene and scale.
  • Expertise in Workday security, reporting, dashboards, and workflow configuration.
  • Proven ability to deliver high-impact analytics and connect People data to business priorities.
  • High attention to detail, strong data integrity practices, and ability to manage sensitive information.
  • Excellent documentation and communication skills; experience using tools like Confluence and JIRA.
  • Passion for exploring AI tools to extend automation beyond Workday’s native capabilities.
  • Experience scaling People systems in global startup environments.

Bonus Skills and Qualifications:

  • Workday Pro certification or complex module experience (e.g., Advanced Compensation, Payroll, Time & Absence, etc.).
  • Experience with advanced configuration frameworks like Workday Extend, Workday Studio and BIRT reporting.
  • Experience building and supporting advanced to complex integrations (e.g., webhooks, Studio integrations, etc.).
  • Familiarity with tools that integrate with Workday (e.g., Greenhouse, Lattice, LMS platforms, finance and workforce planning tools, etc.).

Benefits:

Halcyon offers the following benefits to eligible employees:

  • Comprehensive healthcare (medical, dental, and vision) with premiums paid in full for employees and dependents.
  • 401k plan with a generous employer contribution.
  • Short and long-term disability coverage, basic life and AD&D insurance plans.
  • Medical and dependent care FSA options.
  • Flexible PTO policy.
  • Parental leave.
  • Generous equity offering.

The Company reserves the right to modify or change these benefits programs at any time, with or without notice.

Base Salary Range: $130,000 - $150,000

In accordance with applicable state and federal laws, the range provided is Halcyon’s reasonable estimate of the base compensation for this role. The actual amount may differ based on non-discriminatory factors such as experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, and location. Base pay is one part of the total package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work, and this role may be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses/incentives, and equity in the Company.

Form CC-305
OMB Control Number 1250-0005
Expires 04/30/2026

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
