Hazel Valley Homes is seeking an experienced Compliance Manager to oversee inspection review operations for our single-family rental portfolio. This role combines hands-on inspection review work with team leadership responsibilities, managing a team of 3 inspection review specialists while personally conducting critical property assessments. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in our acquisition and renovation processes, ensuring accurate property evaluations that support informed investment decisions.

Key Responsibilities

Team Leadership & Management

  • Lead, mentor, and manage a team of 3 inspection review specialists
  • Conduct performance reviews, provide ongoing training, and support professional development
  • Establish and maintain quality standards and review protocols across the team
  • Coordinate workload distribution and ensure timely completion of all inspection reviews

Property Assessment & Analysis

  • Conduct comprehensive inspection reviews for potential acquisition properties to assess concession needs prior to purchase offers
  • Review and analyze renovation and turnover scopes and budgets for existing portfolio properties
  • Evaluate property condition reports, contractor estimates, and repair specifications for accuracy and completeness
  • Identify potential risks, code compliance issues, and cost optimization opportunities

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with Transaction Management team to ensure seamless property acquisition workflows
  • Collaborate with Underwriting team to provide detailed property condition insights for investment analysis
  • Work closely with Construction team to validate scope accuracy and timeline feasibility
  • Coordinate with Vendor Managers to ensure contractor estimates align with company standards and market rates

Technology & Documentation

  • Utilize Salesforce for project tracking, reporting, and team coordination
  • Leverage scoping tools including Inspectify and Site Capture for property documentation and analysis
  • Maintain detailed records of all inspection reviews and recommendations
  • Generate comprehensive reports for stakeholders and executive leadership

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Real Estate, or related field
  • 5+ years of experience in property inspection, construction management, or real estate operations
  • 2+ years of team leadership or supervisory experience
  • Proficiency in Salesforce CRM platform
  • Experience with property inspection and scoping tools (Inspectify, Site Capture preferred)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
  • Knowledge of residential construction practices, building codes, and renovation processes

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in single-family rental or real estate investment industry
  • Professional certifications in home inspection or construction management
  • Familiarity with property management software and workflows
  • Experience with budget analysis and cost estimation
