Director, Field Reimbursement

The Director, Field Reimbursement & East Payer Relations is a critical leadership role responsible for overseeing the Field Reimbursement team. This leader will be accountable to ensure HeartFlow’s technologies are accessible and reimbursed across the healthcare system, enabling adoption at the provider level while advancing payer coverage strategies. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong operational skills and deep experience in both field-based support and strategic engagement with commercial health plans.
Job Responsibilities:
- Lead and develop the national Field Reimbursement team, ensuring effective provider support for access, coding, billing, and reimbursement of HeartFlow’s products.
- Define KPIs, dashboards, and performance metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of field reimbursement activities.
- Develop and disseminate educational materials on coding, billing, prior authorization, and appeals.
- Drive collaboration with field facing “One Team” leaders to compliantly share insights into customer needs, potential barriers, and payer issues/opportunities for access at practices and identify facilities and practices that need reimbursement education and support regarding HeartFlow products.
- Provide strategic leadership, talent development, and operational guidance to the field reimbursement team to ensure alignment and execution excellence.
- Maintain a deep understanding of HeartFlow policies and requirements and perform the role in a compliant manner consistent with company guidance.
- Keep abreast of customer and market access industry trends.
- Anticipate market trends and cultivate team capabilities to drive innovative, proactive market access strategies.
Skills Needed:
- Exceptional communication skills with a proven track record of leading cross-functional teams to achieve successful coding, coverage, and payment for innovative healthcare technologies.
- Deep knowledge of U.S. healthcare reimbursement, including commercial payers, CMS, coding and coverage pathways, and health policy trends.
- Strong leadership and organizational skills with the ability to build and lead a high-performing team.
- Proficient in the use of Excel, Word, and PowerPoint with advance spreadsheet development skills
- Demonstrated success leading field-facing teams.
- Strategic thinker with strong leadership, communication, and change management skills.
- Educate cross-functional teams including clinical, medical education, sales, marketing, and technology groups on reimbursement principals and updates as needed.
Educational Requirements & Work Experience:
- 10+ years of progressive experience in Market Access, Field Reimbursement, Managed Care or Field Sales roles within the medical device, diagnostics, or digital health industry.
- Minimum 7 years’ experience building, managing, and leading Field teams in required. Experience managing field based teams in different locations, time zones, and countries is greatly preferred.
- Bachelor’s Degree in related field of study preferred.
- Experience in a high-growth or innovative healthcare company preferred.
This position has an estimated base salary of $174,935 - $190,000.
