Builder / Finish Carpenter
About Helion
We are a fusion power company based in Everett, WA, with the mission to build the world's first fusion power plant, enabling a future with unlimited clean electricity. Our vision is a world with clean, reliable, and affordable energy for everyone.
Since Helion's founding in 2013, we have raised over $1 billion from long-time investors such as Sam Altman, Mithril, and Capricorn Investment Group and new investors SoftBank and Lightspeed to propel us forward. Our last prototype, Trenta, completed 10,000 high-power pulses and reached plasma temperatures of 100 million degrees Celsius (9 keV). Now, we're turning up operations for Polaris, working towards delivering the world's first fusion power plant.
More than ever, it's a pivotal time to join us and have the opportunity to solve real challenges to create a better energy future. You will see first-hand how we value urgency, rigor, ownership, and hard truths, knowing it will take each to do what no one has before. Joining us, you will push the boundaries of what's possible and transform humanity for the better - because the world can't wait.
What You Will Be Doing:
Helion is looking for an accomplished Builder / Finish Carpenter who thrives on variety, precision, and creative problem solving. This isn't your standard finish carpentry job — it's more dynamic, more hands-on, and ideal for someone who enjoys wearing multiple hats.
We need an inspired team player with a carpenter’s eye and a builder’s mindset — someone who can move seamlessly between layout, light framing, small-scale construction, creative fabrication, assembly, and even the occasional laborer task when needed. Your craftsmanship will directly support Helion's mission to build the world's first fusion power plant, ensuring our spaces evolve as quickly as our technology. This is an onsite role at our Everett, WA headquarters, reporting directly to Helion's Construction Manager.
You Will:
- Perform finish carpentry work on unique build-outs, office, and site improvements with a team of Helion carpenters
- Help plan for custom interior and exterior projects
- Implement fabrication and small-scale builds using wood, composites, and occasionally metal
- Assemble pre-built or modular components with care
- Jump in on light laborer tasks such as site prep, cleanup, or basic installations when needed
- Collaborate with Helion's real estate and facilities teams to meet evolving project needs
- Troubleshoot creatively in the field
Required Skills:
- 3+ years of finish carpentry or related field experience
- Experience with custom builds, millwork, and assembly
- Comfortable reading and interpreting drawings, specs, and layout plans
- Experience with using hand tools, shop equipment, and finishing tools
- Willingness to support varied tasks, including fabrication, installations, or labor as needed
- OSHA-10 or OSHA-30 certification
