Facilities Operations Manager

Everett, WA

About Helion

We are a fusion power company based in Everett, WA, with the mission to build the world's first fusion power plant, enabling a future with unlimited clean electricity. Our vision is a world with clean, reliable, and affordable energy for everyone.

Since Helion's founding in 2013, we have raised over $1 billion from long-time investors such as Sam Altman, Mithril, and Capricorn Investment Group as well as new investors SoftBank and Lightspeed to propel us forward. Our last prototype, Trenta, completed 10,000 high-power pulses and reached plasma temperatures of 100 million degrees Celsius (9 keV). We are now operating Polaris, our next prototype on the path to the world's first fusion power plant.

This is a pivotal time to join Helion. You will tackle real-world challenges with a team that prizes urgency, rigor, ownership, and a commitment to delivering hard truths – values essential to achieving what no one has before. Together, we will change the future of energy, because the world can't wait.

What You Will Be Doing:

As Facilities Operations Manager, you'll lead the planning and execution of facilities operations across our growing portfolio—bridging day-to-day reliability with long-term infrastructure strategy. You'll serve as a key partner to Facilities leadership, driving operational rigor, vendor performance, and capital planning.

This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a high-accountability, technically complex environment and knows how to build scalable systems that keep critical facilities safe, efficient, and future-ready. This is an onsite role reporting directly to our Senior Manager of Facilities in our Everett, WA headquarters.

You Will:

  • Drive facilities operations across multiple sites, including preventative maintenance, inspections, and compliance tracking; support long-range planning through headcount and space forecasts, lifecycle cost modeling, and system renewal inputs; contribute to roadmap development for major upgrades, expansion planning, and operational risk mitigation
  • Oversee the Environmental Services team and maintenance support to ensure facilities are clean, functional, and well-stocked; ensure vendor performance aligns with internal standards, preventive maintenance plans, and broader facilities strategy
  • Apply technical understanding of building systems -- such as air handlers, HVAC, and fire alarm systems -- to provide informed direction to vendors, and ensure system performance aligns with operational expectations and compliance requirements

Required Skills:

  • At least 10 years of experience in facilities management and supervisory roles
  • The ability to identify failure points and remove them from our operations
  • Clear communicator who can operate at the tactical and strategic level
  • Expertise in CMMS administration and implementation
  • Experience preparing professional-grade documents, procedures, and reports
  • Previous experience in a hands-on maintenance role is desired but not required
