SUMMARY

We are seeking a motivated Learning & Talent Intern to support employee learning, development, and talent initiatives at HexArmor. This role provides hands-on experience in learning program coordination, instructional design, learning technology, reporting, and employee development.

The intern will work closely with the HR team to support learning programs, improve the employee learning experience, and contribute to projects that strengthen how HexArmor develops its people.

LOCATION

Onsite at HexArmor Corporate Headquarters in Grand Rapids, Michigan (640 Leffingwell Ave. NE Grand Rapids, MI)

SCHEDULE

This is a 14-week, full-time internship beginning May 17, 2027. Interns will work 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, during our standard business hours of 8:30am to 5:00pm.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support the coordination and administration of instructor-led, virtual, and online learning programs.
  • Assist with scheduling, enrollment, communications, training materials, and learner support.
  • Help maintain and organize content within the Learning Management System (LMS).
  • Create and maintain basic learning reports and analyze participation and completion data.
  • Assist with developing eLearning, presentations, job aids, microlearning, and other learning materials.
  • Support employee development, career development, and talent initiatives.
  • Research learning and talent development best practices and make recommendations.
  • Help create communications that promote learning opportunities and employee engagement.
  • Partner with HR team members and business leaders on learning and development projects.

STRATEGIC PROJECT EXPOSURE

Throughout the internship, the intern may have the opportunity to contribute to projects such as:

  • Learning Pathways: Help develop role-based learning resources for employees and leaders.
  • LMS Engagement: Analyze LMS usage and identify opportunities to improve participation.
  • Content Modernization: Help convert existing training into more engaging digital resources.
  • Skills & Competencies: Support research and mapping of skills and competencies for key roles.
  • Learning Communications: Help promote learning opportunities and resources across the organization.

WHAT YOU'LL GAIN

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Human Resources, Organizational Leadership, Instructional Design, Education, Industrial/Organizational Psychology, or a related field.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Comfortable working with Microsoft PowerPoint and Microsoft 365.
  • Interest in learning, employee development, and talent management.
  • Creative and curious mindset with a willingness to learn new tools and technology.
  • Experience creating presentations, training materials, or other content (preferred).
  • Familiarity with adult learning or instructional design principles (preferred).
  • Experience with an LMS, Power BI, Canva, Articulate 360, or similar tools (preferred).
