Role Overview
Empower the next generation of Jewish life by joining USC Hillel as Advancement Associate, implementing and administering central donor stewardship, managing gift processing, data, and communications systems that fuel funding for our Hillel. The Advancement Associate will take a leading role in developing new revenue streams, with a focus on young alumni and on digital marketing. This position is ideal as a launch pad for a recent college graduate to pursue a career in the non-profit sector, housed on a premier North American college campus. The Advancement Associate will learn fundraising best practices hands-on while engaging with USC Jewish alumni, parents, and donors. Engagement with our mission, enthusiasm for learning, and strong organizational skills will drive your success contributing to an exceptional team. The Advancement Associate is a full-time, non-exempt role reporting to our Director of Advancement.
What You’ll Do
In partnership with the Director of Advancement, the Advancement Associate will oversee and administer the core functions and systems underpinning our fundraising activity. Responsibilities include:
- Database management, entry, and systems administration.
- Management of a portfolio of grass-roots young alumni donors.
- Ownership of young alumni stewardship and engagement.
- Processing of donor acknowledgements.
- Production of advancement collateral.
- Donor prospect research and rating.
- Co-creation of written donor-facing communications and donor experiences.
- Contributing to grant reporting and telling the story of USC Hillel’s impact.
What You’ll Bring to the Job
- Experience with CRM platforms and an eagerness to master them.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Sensitivity and discretion with respect to privacy in donor data.
- Fluency in strategic use of social media, including LinkedIn, Instagram, and Facebook.
- Excellent Microsoft Office and productivity software skills.
Qualifications
- 0-2 years of professional work experience. Experience in development, fundraising, and administration a plus.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a complex team.
- Ability to work autonomously and manage multiple projects.
- Excellent time management skills.
- Data-oriented with excellent attention to detail.
- Bachelor’s degree required.
What You’ll Receive
- Competitive salary in the nonprofit marketplace. The salary range for this role is $50,000-57,500.
