What You’ll do Here
As a Title Examiner, you’ll play a key role in the day-to-day operations of a fast-paced, high-volume residential escrow and title insurance agency. We’re looking for someone with national experience reviewing title for purchase transactions involving residential real estate. Your expertise will ensure our clients have clear, insurable title and a smooth closing process.
Responsibilities:
- Examine and verify residential property titles for purchase transactions across multiple states.
- Conduct title searches using public and private real estate records to identify ownership history and determine any encumbrances.
- Summarize legal and insurance documents, including deeds, liens, mortgages, judgments, easements, and surveys.
- Analyze and evaluate title-related records for single-family homes, land, and residential buildings nationwide.
- Ensure titles are free of restrictions or defects that may hinder a property’s sale or use.
- Prepare clear and accurate title commitments and property reports.
- Analyze chain of title and prepare documentation outlining findings and potential issues.
- Review and interpret title reports from outside abstractors.
- Examine residential lot and block descriptions, as well as metes and bounds legal descriptions (as applicable).
- Use title plant software and tools effectively to complete research and reports.
- Collaborate with escrow officers, underwriters, and other stakeholders to clear title issues and ensure timely closings.
What You Bring
- 5+ years of title examination experience, with a focus on residential purchase transactions across multiple states.
- Strong working knowledge of legal terms and documents related to title and escrow.
- Ability to read and decipher legal descriptions related to title orders.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and customer service orientation.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and title production systems.
