About the Role

We recently completed a strategic editorial refocusing of our blog, The Edge. Now, we’re looking for a forward-thinking, digitally savvy Executive Editor to play a pivotal role in helping us create the smartest longevity content on the internet. You’ll blend clinical rigor with compelling storytelling, balancing audience needs and business goals to create high-impact consumer health content. The Edge serves as many people’s first touchpoint with Hone, making this role critical to building trust, driving customer acquisition, and fostering brand awareness.

As Executive Editor, you’ll help guide day-to-day content creation for The Edge. You’ll work with a small but mighty team of editors and freelancers to deliver medically accurate content that resonates with midlife audiences and dominates SERPs. Whether you’re brainstorming ideas to cover the latest longevity trends, editing copy for reader engagement and organic visibility, or troubleshooting challenges, you relish rolling up your sleeves to get the job done.

About You:
You’re an editorial leader who thrives at the intersection of clinical rigor, inspirational storytelling, and SEO know-how. Passionate about producing science-backed, reader-first content, you dig deep into research and make incisive edits to deliver essential insights and fresh perspectives that cut through the noise and jargon to enhance people’s health. You’re a strategic thinker who leverages data to make editorial decisions. You also excel at pitching intriguing trend stories and unexplored angles to captivate readers.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Help guide day-to-day content creation for Hone’s blog, The Edge, leading a small team to create articles about hormone health, longevity, weight management, and other health optimizations that stand out in a sea of generic, AI-generated junk.
  • Edit content to ensure it delivers unique perspectives and actionable, out-of-the-box tips readers can use to improve their health. Make sure all copy is medically accurate and SEO-optimized following the current best practices. Infuse the Hone brand tone and voice into every article.
  • Stay ahead of emerging research and trends in hormone health and longevity to pitch and execute innovative ideas that cement Hone as a leader in these spaces.
  • Conceptualize, assign, and edit various content types, including SEO-driven articles, trend-driven features, and thought leadership.
  • Liaise with our medical advisory board for rigorous content review; regularly meet with its members to ensure the latest science informs our articles.
  • With the Senior Editorial Director and SEO Manager, analyze performance data and refine content strategies for maximum impact.
  • Oversee our newsletter, Hone In.
  • Pivot fast when needed to help shift editorial strategy and tactics as the company evolves.

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of experience editing scientifically rigorous consumer health content. Ideally, you’ve worked at a D2C health brand with a strong SEO strategy.
  • 5+ years of experience managing a team within a brand, magazine, or publishing environment.
  • Deep knowledge of men’s hormone health, perimenopause/menopause, weight management, and longevity. Extensive experience translating complex medical and scientific concepts into engaging, reader-friendly content.
  • Robust knowledge of current SEO best practices, with hands-on experience using tools like Ahrefs, SEMrush, Google Analytics (GA4), and Google Search Console.
  • Strong organizational and leadership skills to manage multiple deadlines, team members, and freelance contributors while maintaining high standards.
  • Strong data literacy, with the ability to use performance and engagement analytics to inform editorial decisions and track success.
  • Track record of driving content that has positively impacted business objectives, such as driving acquisition, boosting SERP rankings, or enhancing brand awareness.
  • Passion for health and wellness, with a personal interest in optimizing health and longevity.

You’ll join a collaborative, close-knit team. Ideally, you’re practicing what we’re preaching; interested in living a healthy lifestyle and optimizing your health.

Note:

All applications must include a resume and three pieces of content you've overseen, with a brief (1-2 sentence) description of each that highlights your strategic approach and how the content positively impacted business objectives.

Classification of protected categories is as follows:

A "disabled veteran" is one of the following: a veteran of the U.S. military, ground, naval or air service who is entitled to compensation (or who but for the receipt of military retired pay would be entitled to compensation) under laws administered by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs; or a person who was discharged or released from active duty because of a service-connected disability.

Form CC-305
OMB Control Number 1250-0005
Expires 04/30/2026

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
