The Role
Hone is looking for a UI/Visual Designer to join our team. In this role, you will report to the Head of Product Design to help define and elevate the visual design quality across our digital products. You will collaborate closely with stakeholders to craft user interfaces, data visualizations, informational graphics, iconography, illustrations, and motion graphics that set the standard for design excellence.

Primary Responsibilities
Key responsibilities for this role include (but are not limited to) the following:

  • Set the bar for visual design: Establish and maintain a high-quality visual design style by blending typography, color theory, and custom graphics to create novel UI solutions.
  • Visual language creation and refinement: Shape and evolve the visual identity of both the Hone brand and our digital products by creating custom graphics, iconography, illustrations, 3D renderings, and UI components.
  • Iterative UI concepts: Work iteratively with the Head of Product Design to explore, create, and refine cutting-edge design concepts and user interfaces.
  • Design novel solutions: Design beautiful and innovative user interfaces that incorporate the latest design trends, and push the boundaries of what’s possible in digital product design.
  • Design custom data visualization: Create custom data visualizations and informational graphics that convey complex medical information with clarity and aesthetic appeal.
  • Contribute and work within our Design System: Contribute to a design system that promotes consistency and efficiency across our patients' experience.

Requirements

To qualify for this role, candidates must meet the following criteria:

  • 4+ years of experience creating award-winning UI and visual designers for consumer products/applications.
  • Experience working with design agencies and consumer brands.
  • Experience designing custom iconography, data visualizations, and graphical elements
  • Proficiency in modern design tools such as Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, and motion graphics/animation tools (After Effects, Rive, etc).
  • Strong portfolio showcasing expertise in UI design, typography, color theory, data visualization, iconography, and illustration.
  • Experience working with, contributing to, and helping to maintain a Design System.
  • Strong understanding of modern design trends, user interface best practices, and mobile and responsive design techniques.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively in a fast-paced, cross-functional, remote environment.
  • Strong communication and storytelling skills to articulate design decisions and rationale.
  • A passion for raising the bar for design craft and innovation.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in designing health tech and data-intensive applications.
  • Experience with motion graphics and micro-interactions.
  • Experience with branding and marketing design.
  • Experience with 3D modeling

Compensation Range
$140,000 - $200,000 based on location and experience
