The Role
Hone is looking for a Software Development Intern to join our team. In this role, you will report to the Senior Director of Software Development and you will be responsible for the development and maintenance of various applications.
Primary Responsibilities
Key responsibilities for this role include (but are not limited to) the following:
- Learn technical skills as you support the team in various tasks.
- Participating in the design, development, testing, and debugging of software applications or components.
- Writing code, implementing features, writing documentation, or fixing bugs under the guidance of another developer.
- Learn how to work alongside a diverse group of individuals from all over the world in a remote workplace setting, communicate in a direct but kind manner, collaborate with team members to accomplish large, complex projects, and more.
Qualifications
In order to qualify for this role, candidates must meet the following criteria:
- A junior or senior of a relevant undergraduate program, or enrolled in a graduate program with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0
- Have graduated from a software development boot camp/training program OR can provide a portfolio demonstrating relevant self-taught skills.
- A stable internet connection and a PC/laptop.
- Basic level of proficiency in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. Familiarity with React.js and Next.js for front-end development is a plus, but not required.
- Basic knowledge of an object-oriented programming language (We use .NET framework and C# for back-end development.)
- Eagerness to learn new technologies and frameworks, with a focus on self-improvement.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Compensation Range
Up to $25/hr. (averaging approximately 30-40 hours per week).
